Remarks

It is a great choice for a student to choose this college because it offers the best teaching faculty along with opportunities to showcase your talent in a disciplined environment.

Entrance Preview

I filled up the online form for the college and they called me up for an interview. The Principal herself took the interview. My marks were fitting in the eligibility criteria and other requirements of the college and hence I got through the admission process.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I am studying English Honours and my college curriculum falls under Calcutta University. CU has divided the course into 3 parts. The first part i.e Part 1 includes the history of English literature and a poetry papers. Part 2 comprises of a drama and a novel and short story papers. Part 3 which is the final year includes 4 papers which focuses on literature written by old English writers to modern authors and also an optional paper.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, our college provides internship and the companies that offer internships change from year to year. So the stipend varies. Students have to sit for interviews or entrances on which they are selected.

Placement Experience

3.5

It's really good and companies like TCS and others come for placement . The final year students are eligible to sit for the entrance exams. TCS had come 2 years ago who offered for starters an amount of 25k and Indigo is also planning to come this year.

College Events

5

Our college holds a number of events: Independence Day, Teacher's Day, College Fest, seminars, workshops, Investiture Ceremony, Christmas Carol, DJ nights, Social meets, Open Day, Lectures by guests, Development Courses. Students participate in huge number specially for the college fest.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Our college is a minority college. Hence, the fees structure is feasible. The fees for different courses vary but it ranges from 13-16000 quarterly. During admission we had to pay 17-18k depending on the course. The practical fees are excluded. This has been made so that economically weak students can enroll.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship programs change from year to year. Our principal chooses the best for us. It is done through a selection process based on academics and overall achievements. Every year this is given to one or two students at the most.

Campus Life

4

Our college is a minority college so it offers admission to transgenders and other genders, disabled students as well. We are taught to treat everyone equally and we take part in every event together. We get to socialise, eat good food at the canteen, play in the common room, roam around in the lawns, sit and chat with our friends in the ledge or porch. Workshops and seminars take place almost every month. Our college is apolitical and we have a student council which comprises of 80 students. Since we don't have a student union we have a council who takes control over the events and organises them.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel is only for outstation students. I am from the city so I don't really know about the facilities it provides but the condition is good and well-maintained. The fourth floor of the college holds the hostel and they have air conditioned rooms with proper facilities. The food is provided by the canteen and is included in the fees.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes seniors are very helpful and they are easily approachable. The professors are like friends to us and always ready to help.

Exam Structure

Our college has a midterm exam for 1st years followed by selections and the University exam. 2nd and 3rd years have the selection exam and the University exam. There are college practicals depending on the elective subjects or the course we are studying. We get a coffee break from 10-10.30 and a tiffin break from 12-1.

Faculty

5

Our college has one of the best faculties in the city for all the courses. My department has 5 senior professors and another young very talented and educated professor who just completed her PhD from Scotland. Most of them are graduates from Jadavpur University, Presidency and post graduates from JNU and Oxford and Cambridge Universities.

I want to know bengali literature and all type of poems and proses that's why I choose B.a. in bengali literature. According to me, my course helps me in doing Masters in Bengali. From the point of view of improvements, I feel that digital classes can be conducted in the class by leaving the theory classes. Mere collage The exam level is basically hard and exams are conducted twice a year.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have always wanted to persue English as a career. I love studying English but not a big fan of the new curriculum by NEP that includes a lot pf irrelevant papers. The semesters are not consistent. Odd semesters usually have a lot of time like 6-8 months but even semesters barely consist of 2-3 months.

Course Curriculum Overview:

We were held a class for upto 1hrs, thus we had 4 class a day. Sometimes it is boaring sometimes it becomes striking, it depends on the mood. It is to say little knowledge is a dangerous thing, if you don't read you cannot pass the semester examination. Although it will provide you a second chance. But with change of syllabus the exam pattern also change. You need to attain a total percentage of 75(%) to maintain you honours subject otherwise you would be regarded as programme course student.
