The new lecture hall complex is designed and constructed beautifully. Old academics blocks should be renovated.

GATE(2014), Score-706, Marks- 61/100 I was offered the same course from 6 different IITs but I joined IIT Delhi only because it is one of the best and oldest IIT reputed with QS ranking 169 and Delhi is also my home town.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum is good specially the courses like dynamics of structure, earthquake engineering, design of tall buildings. but the 2 open elective courses are useless. but for the partial fulfillment of the degree we have to opt for these 2 courses.

Internships Opportunities

For M.Tech students they dont provide any internship. But we get a sum of amount Rs 12,400 p.m. from government under the name of Teaching Assistantship, but our institute made a rule that if someone fails to score 7GPA per semester, his/her stipend will not be released by the institute. I agree that there should be some rule and regulations but why dont they understand in the city like Delhi it is really very hard to survive for the basic needs without money. In this aspect IIT Kanpur is far better than IIT Delhi, they have a minimum GPA criteria of 6.5 one teacher from our department gave more than half of the class D grade in a subject. and because of that 5 to 6 students dont get their stipend.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes IIT provide interest free loan to the economic backward class students. For M.Tech students they have DAAD scholarship program.

Campus Life

Campus life is just awesome because it is free from pollution, free from crowd, easy facilities of each and everything. Gender ratio is fairly good. Diversity wise IITs are best because one can find people from every available diversity in India.

Faculty

Some faculty are good even awesome because they design the whole subject such that each student should know about the both theory and practical aspects of the subject. But one or two teachers are idiots like our present course coordinator and one who take concrete and steel design course. They actually forgot that before becoming a faculty they were also students.

For M.Tech students our college allow 12 Month intern and companies will start visiting for this from the month of October itself and some companies also offer full time offer. These include companies like Striker, Siemens EDA, NXP Semiconductors, Intel etc. These companies generally offer stypend of around 40-60K and Symens EDA offered full time offer. At the end of the 2nd year almost 90% of the batch is placed and average is around 14 and median around 13.

placements are offered on the campus. the last mass recruiter was google and facebook. hcl and microsoft. they hired lot of students and the highest package offered was 30lakh per annum and it was amazing. i was quite amazed. i was offered 15lakh package after bachelors but i wanted to go fot masters and hetr i am.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have a keen interest in power electronics that's why I opted for this course. In different iits they float the different program like in iit kanpur there is power engineering & in iit delhi there are mtech program in power electronics, control, power system etc. Overall on combining all the sub domain of electrical approximately 80-90 gets student got admission in iit delhi in 2022-23. After getting admission, within two month we have to give minor exam & the pattern of exam & time schedule highly attracted me.

Best years of My life!

Placement Experience:

placements are very good and each year the numbers keeps on getting better. In year 2022, 50 students got offer above 1cr. and over a 1000 students got placed in 15 days. The average package goes upto 20 lakhs. Computer science and Electrical departments have the best figure in terms of placements. Mostly companies come for frofiles like Software Developer , Quantitative researcher/ trader, Data scientist/analyst and hardware engineer(VLSI).

My first iit experience

Course Curriculum Overview:

i chose this course as handeling a project in civil engineering seems very intruiging to me. we have 22 students in our class. faculty in iit delhi are highly qualified and the teaching methods adopted are very interactive and interesting. we have to mid semester exam and one final semester exams, the shcedule for which is provided in the beginning of the semester itself.

Remarks:

I.I.T. Delhi is really a student friendly they always take advice from student as well as experts and professors. I.I.T. Delhi community always tries to help each others. I haven't faced any bad aspects throughout my 1 year experience. Our admission starts in the peak of covid, I have submitted my fee payment in the last date 31st July 2020, Registration ends on Sept 17, 2020. Reason that I am here is I.I.T. Delhi is known for world class research in the field of optics and photonics and I am interested in this area of research also there is no other institution in India that can be better than this in this particular area of research.I am happy to share that I.I.T. delhi starts new Department·Optics and Photonics Centre from this year (2021) which creates more scope for students.
