Remarks

To summarize , this college has emerged as one of the most desired institution for students in Bangalore in the recent years. It celebrated it's Golden Jubilee in 2011 . If we compare the college's current ranking with the one 5 years ago, it has taken a massive climb. One thing which I love most about this college is it's campus life, faculty , the freedom to pursue your will and the most important PLACEMENTS.

Entrance Preview

I wrote Karnataka CET, secured a rank of 5129 . And then came the time to choose a branch and college. I had heard about this college since I came to B'lore . Keeping in mind the reputation of the college and reviews , I finalized to opt this . Then the challenge was to choose the branch and frankly speaking, for a 12th Passout all the branches look the same because he/she wouldn't have any prior experience and most of us wouldn't even have any idea what the branch is all about. ECE was the branch on top then , but since I had Comp Sci. in my 12th, I choose that and now we see the Industry drifting towards the same.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Best thing about this college is that the Course curriculum changes with the industry and the technology. Students are given a taste of all the latest and hottest technologies which really helps during placements. One thing that makes a time of students here a bit hectic is the frequent exams and quizzes. But at the End of the day, one finds it worth the struggle. Placement department is really supportive here, various kinds of training are conducted by the placement department before the start of placement season.

Internships Opportunities

Yes the college do provide internships companies which came were mass in number you just have to prove yourself to them to get the offer. Cisco (35k BE, 45k MTech, Inmobi (40k), Flipkart (30), Juniper Networks (30k), Amazon (40k), Commvault (30k), Cerner (22k) and the list goes on. there were more than 50 companies which offered internships.

College Events

4.5

Various event are being held in the college starting from Cultural Fest, Shoutout , Karnataka Rajyotsava, etc. Students here are encouraged to take part in such events and helps in building this overall personality which is very imp. these days. College fest goes one for 4-6 days and is theme based. Artists are invited from various fields and numerous amount of events are planned for students. This is not just restricted to MSRIT students but all the colleges in Bangalore to participate. Along with cultural events, a huge number of sports events are also organized like inter college tournaments and university.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure keeps changing every year to some extent for CET students its available at kea.kar.nic.in and COMED K exam its different. This remains same across all colleges in Bangalore fee consists of various components few of which remain fixed for the next four years after taking admission . For CET students, the fee is approx 50K per year and for COMED K candidates its around 1.5 lakhs this includes 75 thousand as the tuition fee and rest is further divided into many components like library fee, labs, etc. Every semester , students are required to pay some amount against the examination which is not included in the annual fee.

Fees and Financial Aid

A wide range of scholarships are offered by college which can be found out at msrit.edu website. This starts from scholarships based on the category to which student belongs like SC/ST/OBC/etc. Other scholarships are given to meritorious students from the respective department every semester. A various NGOs visit college and students working for them for a longer duration also get scholarships.

Campus Life

4.5

MSRIT has a huge green campus present in the heart of the city. The crowd here is diverse which come from different parts of the country and these days we can see a significant inflow from various countries as well. EDC (entrepreneurship development cell ) organizes a lot of events every year in association with NEN (national entrepreneurship network). Labs are world class here , equipped with latest tools and machines. A huge sports complex has recently come up which has all the indoor/outdoor sports in it except a few. DebSoc (Debating Society) is another group which keeps organizing various debating contests.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel facilities are really good now compared to last 5 years new buildings have come up for both Boys and Girls. There is a huge sports complex adjacent to it. That consists of almost all the indoor games and outdoor games like volley ball, basket ball, etc. Students are encouraged to take part in the tournaments which happen like inter college and university championships.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is very well designed by the Exam Dept. Yes, the exams are very frequent but that is good in a way . It keeps the students on the track always and every-time. One thing that makes a time of students here a bit hectic is the frequent exams and quizzes. But at the End of the day, one finds it worth the struggle. Placement department is really supportive here, various kinds of training are conducted by the placement department before the start of placement season.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty of this college is well qualified but to be frank at the end of the day its you and the books. Self study can only get you what you want.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
