Remarks

At the time of admission, I was having a lot of confusion about which course and college to go for. Then I chosen Dyal Singh evening college (south campus) over others which I can proudly say was my right decision. My seniors from my hometown were also studying there. It is a full-fledged day college as classes are held in the morning. Infrastructure is good. This college provides a lot of opportunities in form of societies like COMHUB, THE PLACEMENT CELL, NSS, ENACTUS, ART AND CRAFT SOCIETY, NCC which enhances the skills of individuals. The college is a very right location as the metro station and bus stand are walking distance away. The canteen is also appreciable. Amphitheatre provides quality time chilling with friends. All the teachers and staff are very helpful and cooperative. The admission process and dates are the same as all other DU colleges. The college website and my seniors made my interest to enroll in the same. Well, u can go to this college without any regrets.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

As I am from a commerce background and I had decided to go for B.com(H) and my seniors also guided me to choose this particular course. All the faculty members are very cooperative and helpful. Mainly 3-4 teachers are there for a particular subject and all are masters of their subjects. They teach in very interesting and easy way. All are very experienced and have done doctorate degree in their respective fields. Exams are held according to the DU schedule and teachers took class tests for revision. In this pandemic too, all classes are held regularly and teachers make a lot of efforts on us to get good grades. I have secured the first position in the college. Well, the difficulty level was moderate. Sometimes, the pattern of exams got changed, it happens with us in macroeconomics.

Internships Opportunities

4

THE PLACEMENT CELL organizes INTERNSHIP FAIR every year where 50-60 companies(KVCH, MY STUDY BUDDY, KIND BEINGS, sharekhan, TIMES OF INDIA, INFOSYS) came who provides handsome internships to the students of all courses and year. It was held in the month of february. The stipend varies from company to company. Mainly it lies between Rs.5000-15000. More than 1000 students participate in the fair across all DU colleges. I was also the part of organizing team and it was a great learning experience. I have also given interviews in more than 10-15 companies. NGOs was also welcomed. So, the ones who want to do social work can apply for it.

Placement Experience

4

THE PLACEMENT CELL looks for internships for all years students and jobs for final years. Firstly, they analyze the need and interests of the students in which field they want to go for. After that, they start pitching companies for the same. In the month of February, INTERNSHIP FAIR was held every year where 50-60 companies( KVCH, TIMES OF INDIA, SHAREKHAN) came who offer internships to students. The stipend varies from company to company i.e. Rs.5000-15000. I have also given many interviews and selected for various internships. I have also worked in a placement cell and it was a great learning experience. In my first year, I have done an internship in KIND BEINGS. Placements are provided to final year students and profiles offered are marketing, HR, finance, etc. The average package is Rs.3 lakhs. The highest package offered was Rs.6.5 lakhs. Around 70% of the students get placements in different companies every year. I have planned to do MBA further.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is very affordable to all. If we talked about this college, it costs Rs.13400 per year including Rs.800 per semester i.e examination fees. No other charges were there. We can issue books from the library anytime. So, there is no need to buy course books. As DU enhances the skills of the individual. this college is having THE PLACEMENT CELL which looks for internships for all-year students and jobs for final ones and hence good placements. They organize the INTERNSHIP FAIR in mid of February every year in the college where 50-60 companies came who offer handsome internships to students in various fields i.e marketing, HR, finance, etc. The stipend varies from company to company. Mainly it lies between Rs.5000-15000 per month. I have done an internship in KIND BEINGS(NGO) in my first year. I was also part of PLACEMENT CELL. So, there is a lot to learn from all these things.

Campus Life

5

What wonderful days that were! A college is a place where one can make remarkable memories with their friends. A lot of fests are conducted throughout the year. In October, COMHUB- the commerce society conducts RADIANS where students of various colleges take part. At the end of January, the art and culture society conducts RAJNIGANDHA. In the 4th week of February, COMHUB organizes COMFIESTA which goes for 2 days where a lot of events take place. I was part of the team and it was a great time that I have spent in college. In February, THE PLACEMENT CELL also organizes the INTERNSHIP FAIR which provides handsome internships to students. In the month of March, College conducts Fests where SINGERS came to perform. All college students came to watch the show. At the end of the year, the college hosts the annual function where prizes and trophies were given to the deserving ones. So, we can say that even semesters are fest season in DU.

Bcom that they offered was good enough to prepare one for the real world applications as various examples and field activities were also conducted by the college at that time . Teacher student ratio should be taken care of along with lethargic teaching methods like lecture method . Exams were held every 6 months and the difficulty level was easy.

Placement Experience:

There is a placement cell within the colleges but numerous are not dynamic and those who are dynamic do not offer great arrangements. As it were Srcc , LSR or St. Stephens offer pleasant placements. Most colleges offer arrangements between 3 - 4 lacs but over said colleges can give you situations with normal 8 lacs. But, I would prescribe you to not go for placements but higher things because it will increment your information and assist you to advance in your work and do it effectively whereas doing work fair after graduation will not allow you to regard merely continuously needed in the corporate world.
