COMEDK. It is an exam only for Karnataka based colleges. The exam usually takes place in Bangalore which is very convenient. Bangalore seemed like a good place to study so gave this exam.

There are foundation internships. I am not aware of the name. They can work as teacher's assistant and assist them in their PhD or their current research.

It's pretty good for IT branches. For non IT branches, it's not that great. They have to make do with the IT companies that come in the campus. Or maybe a few companies which come who will recruit hardly 2-3 people. Or can try off campus. The quality and number of companies can be definitely improved.

Well it has many symposiums, debates , pick a chit and many other events for all respective branches. It has cultural events which are both inter college and so on. It has many sports events as well like football, basketball, etc. It has college festival as well which goes on for 2 days and is very fun. Many volunteering kind of stuff to.

Fee structure for Karnataka students is very much affordable. Hardly 40k per month. But the same course for non Karnataka people was around 1.5 lakh. The treatment is just same (don't expect to be any different). The worst part is that knowingly or unknowingly the faculty supports the local people more which is not fair.

Scholarship for masters is available in our college though don't know all the branches where it is available.

The gender ratio seemed to be fine though they differ branch to branch. The workshops are also very informative. I have never noticed any kind of discrimination by gender, sex, caste or creed in the college. Though South Indians are much more supported than North Indians. But nothing unmanageable.

The hostel facilities for atleast girls hostel is very very horrible. The fee for hostel would be around 80k and the facilities are as horrible as a government hospital.

Exams and labs were definitely NOT chilled out. They were absolutely grueling and tiring. The theory papers would totally suck because in VTU usually marks are given on the basis of how many pages you write and very less on actual data or information. The exam structure can definitely be improved for better.

The faculty is almost as strict as being in school. No college gun especially bunking or any other extra curricular activities are supported. Teachers are pretty qualified and good at what they teach. Although if given more support and a little less biases, can be a really great department.
