Few reviews of pros and cons of CIEM

The infrastructure of the college is good, but there is a need for more systems in the library and other laboratories. Even in the computer labs, the devices are to be updated. Lab assistants are very helpful. This course follows the curriculum of WBUT(MAKAUT). The faculty members are mostly good and kind off helpful. Even though i dont personally know abt the placement details but from what i have heard this college has below-average placement records. 20% of the students from courses get placed and have a maximum of 4LPA to a minimum of 3 LPA salary. Thats why most of the students opt for higher studies like MTECH.Admissions are taken both through jee mains and wbjee sources and very few are dont through Management Quota. I have just one particular reason to be in the college cuz the overall course fees is bearable. Another reason is its close by to my home.

I chose this college because the fee structure was manageable and the college was nearby. The student th faculty ratio is good. It's as far as in my batch 7:52 which is quite good for an engineering college. Most of the teachers have a doctorate in their respective fields. The teaching technique is good and most of the teachers do explain and solve all the problems if any student is having difficulty with them. The teaching method cannot be explained right now as I have only done online classes but in online classes, most of the teachers were very good. The term exams happen sometimes on a weekly basis and sometimes in one month. Semester exams usually take place every 5 months. Difficult of exams are high but as it is said if u study then it's easy for you.

They provide a campus representative program from my WBUT and Coding ninja, and external internship are also supported by the college. Our college is extremely supportive of those who bring in external internships and thus try to help us in all the ways possible.

From semester 6-8 campus students become eligible for campus placements The main companies that do visit the college are Wipro,Hp, Cognizant, Hcl, Infosys, and many more. Around only 30% of the campus students get jobs from interviews with a maximum LPA of 4 and a minimum of 3. My plan is to get a job (off or on-campus) and then opt for Higher studies.

The fees are manageable. On a per sem basis it is nearly 42000 with an average increase of 1000 per year. The other extra courses provided by the college need extra money to be paid. I am a first-year student so I have not yet got any job from campus.

Due to the covid situation, the campus life is still inexperienced. But as far as I have heard from my seniors and sometimes I have visited the college regarding some work I have experienced good things only. Availability of books is good but they are many old version and the library system also needs to be updated. Usually, summer and wintertime sports do take place at school and they do go for inter-college or inter-university championship. There are many social groups run by students in our colleges mainly based on Computer, electronic, mechanical, geography, literature, drama and much more.
