Remarks

I chose this college mainly because I was the first batch and it had Times of India backing it up. It has many affiliations with Ivey league colleges and we get a lot of courses offered by them and student exchange programs too. The admission process was fairly easy, each student was assigned a student counsellor to fill the applications and clear the doubts if any. It's been four years that I have been a part of Bennett'saw school and the only bad aspect of it is that it's very far from the city. Bennett University is located in a rather aloof area which gets a bit troublesome to travel. Other than that, the law school faculty is amazing. It's a bunch of mixed generation, so you get all the things in one place, experience of a very senior faculty, new teaching methods of a fairly young faculty, etc. I didn't visit any website for this college, it was more like I found their stall in an educational fair in Pragati maidan.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I wanted to do law integrated with management, hence, this course. The faculty-student ratio is 1:15 in law school. The faculty is amazing, comes from Oxford, Ivey league colleges, Delhi University, National Law Universities and many other top-notch colleges. The teaching method overall is really accomodating. The faculty is willing to listen, what students have to say. They accommodate the ways in which we like to learn along with their own ways. It's a two-way process at Bennett law school. There are three kinds of evaluation each semester. 1) internals 2) midterms 3) end terms. Internals are generally assignments and/or quizzes. Midterms are 25 marks small exam. The end term is the 50 marks exam. Now, to pass any subject in law school the minimum requirement is 50%. Nothing comes easy in law school but again it's not that difficult to get an average GPA.

Internships Opportunities

3

Law school provides internship with various law firms, research academies, think tanks, etc. I worked with the legal department of the Times of India in my first year. From the second year, I took my own internships. Generally, across India, law students don't get a stipend before the 3rd or 4th year of law school. So don't expect a stipend in your first internship. Tasks vary according to the field you take an internship in. It can be research, writing, drafting, etc.

Placement Experience

3.5

Students become eligible for placements in their last year of the course. Each company has their own policy as far as the scores and other things are concerned. There is a dedicated placements committee for University and another placement committee for law school. They prepare you for interviews and making the resume etc. The highest placement was 44lacs per anum in Microsoft. And average salary is 6-7lacs per anum. You are free to find your internships yourself or through college. Whichever way you go, you need to inform the internship and placement committee about the same. Law school requires you to do one month internship every year, summer or winter is up to you.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees per year are 3.4 lacs (only tuition fee) and law school requires you to take campus accommodation, which is another 1.5lacs. (Tripple sharing) and 1.75 lacs (double sharing) In the year 2019, there was a fee hike of around 2%. Scholarship schemes are such: There are various campus jobs available, in the marketing department, sports department, student affairs department, average stipend stands at around 6-7k a month.

Campus Life

5

Uphoria is the annual University fest. Zenevia- tech fest Legalite- law fest. There's another sports fest too. All fests are spread across the year to keep the campus life lively. Apart from that every month there's some major event or the other conducted by clubs. There are 17 clubs on campus ranging from dance, music, literary to gaming, astronomy and a lot more. So over-all the campus life is extremely lively and there's a niche for everyone to find their space and alike people. There are two libraries on campus, one for all courses and one for specifically law students. Both of them are huge and has every book you can think of, if you want a particular book, you can write to the librarian and it comes in around 1-2 months. The entire campus is fully air-conditioned. Classrooms are tech-savvy with projectors and mics. Every sport and extracurricular activity that you can think of is there on campus. If you want any new activity, set up a team and meeting with the concerned dept.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostels are genuinely nice. Fully Air Conditioned, well built interior, nice and clean washrooms. You get instant hot water as well. Showers work pretty well. The room I live in is double occupancy, so two beds, two tables, two cupboards, two chairs. Other than that if you want to bring in something of your own which doesn't require high voltage electricity, feel free to do so. During the first year, you get a roommate, from your second year you can change the room according to yourself. The meals are good. Breakfast, lunch, high tea and dinner. Spread across the day. All cuisines are there. We get Chinese, Italian, North Indian, South Indian, basically all kinds of meals. While you are taking admission in your course, you can register for the hostel too. The pictures shown on the website are exactly what the hostel looks like.
