- The curriculum is based on the foreign education system. Meaning its up to date.
Dislikes
- The faculty here doesn't have enough knowledge about their subject.
- The classes almost take up the whole day of the students.
- Students literally have to pay for everything. Be it fine, supplementary exam, make-up exam, even to get their answers sheets re-evaluated.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is based on a foreign curriculum. There are no useless subjects in the curriculum. The curriculum is pretty relevant for the placements and for higher education. Students have to give two exams per semester- one mid-term and one end-term of 20 and 40 marks respectively. The difficulty level of the exams is medium. Areas where they can improve -- provide good quality education.
Placement Experience
Placements in Bennett University need a lot of improvement. The average package for B.Tech CSE is 8 LPA, and the highest is claimed to be around 1 crore, which was not on campus. Companies do visit here, including the big ones like Scaler etc. The major issue is the students. Students here are not skilled enough to bag the good packages companies have to offer. Around 300 students sit for the placements out of 3000 and out of these, around 40% of them get placed. The placements start in 7th semester.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tuition fee for B.Tech CSE is 3,80,000 rupees per year. Registration fees of 45,000 rupees were submitted initially. The examination fees per semester are 6,000 rupees. Scholarship is provided based on 12th board percentage and JEE Main score. Sports quota is also available at Bennett University. 50% scholarship is provided on tuition fees for students scoring 90+ percentage in the boards, 30% for those who scored 80+, and so on. 10% scholarship is provided for a single girl child. The hostel fee is 80,000 rupees per semester.
Campus Life
There is an annual fest named Uphoria, a 3-day event of full entertainment and enjoyment. Then there are multiple other events like dandia night, halloween etc, there is a sports fest too named Sportikon. The facilities here are very pleasing and good; there are proper opportunities for sports and other extracurricular activities. There are numerous clubs, like the blockchain club and other clubs, for you to find your interests. All these events and club activities help in the social development of the student, which is also equally important, along with academics.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility is not that great because the rooms are small and three people have to share a room.So it becomes very congested. The washrooms are decent, there is regular cleaning, but the students can't keep the washrooms clean. The mess is fine, there is a variety of food the taste is okayish and cleanliness is also decent. There is also an option to get rooms outside the campus in Nalanda.
Admission
Other colleges I applied for were -- VIT Velore, SRM University, Manipal University and sat for counseling too. The reason I didn't take admission in these colleges was mostly because of the distance from my home. I wanted a good college near my hometown and Bennett was the perfect candidate. It was close to my home city, provided the course I wanted to take and had a decent average package. The curriculum, fests, infrastructure and in general living conditions here at Bennett University are better than those at other colleges. But the placements and the education quality need improvement. The admission process is pretty simple: just register on the website, then fill out the form. After this, you have to come to the college to complete the registrations, that's it.
Faculty
The faculty here is not as bad. But the faculty is usually assigned any subject that is not even their major. The course structure is pretty good here. It doesn't have any traditional unnecessary subjects, which our Indian B.Tech. course structure has. The exam system is the same as that of other colleges- 2 exams per semester (mid sem of 20 marks and end sem of 40 marks), and some quizzes and the rest is the internal marking. The marking scheme is fine, but it mostly depends on the evaluator.
Night Life
The nightlife here is amazing. There is no curfew in hostels so students can roam in the campus till the morning. The outlets are amazing too 2-3 outlets even provide food till 4 am. Outside the campus ia a little scary because the location is not too safe, especially for girls. The gym, cafes and library are all really well equipped, and the infrastructure is decent.
