Entrance Preview

Online entrance exam: MU-OET. Though when I appeared for the exams there was option for both online and paper exams. Opted for CSE because of presence of infinite opportunities in the field. Though when I appeared for counseling, electrical and electronics was the hottest.

Course Curriculum Overview

I would say, Computer science and Engineering is pretty good at MIT. Covers in detail most part of software and hardware industry. You can opt for electives towards end of final year depending on your area of interest and faculty availability. College lacks on active research. However, if you are interested in something specific, college would support and teachers would be very helpful.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, college does arrange for internships. However, unlike some other colleges you do have to pass through the company interview process. Stipends depend on company to company. Honey Well 8000 per month, Juniper 20000 per month, Microsoft 20000 per month, ST micro electronics: 16000 per month.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placement is great. Depending on your capability you can get into top paying companies or have to settle for service based MRCs. College would bring all the tech giants to the campus. Placement percentage is almost near 100%.

College Events

Technical and Cultural fests are huge with students coming from various colleges. It also attracts lots of sponsors. Teams for various colleges participate and completion is cut throat. Typically, the fest lasts for 3-5 days.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship details vary from year to year. Typically, first 100 rankings in entrance exams get 100% fees wave off. No loan facility offered by college. You need to get in touch with banks personally. I personally took a loan of 4 Lac from SBI.

my view on internship oppurtunities

Placement Experience:

the placement rate says 100% but you have to be maintaining 7.25 cgpa in order to sit for the placements and they are classified into 1) mass recruiters 2) dream companies3) superdream companies for which you will need 9 and above cgpa. i personally am dependent on placement or i also am appearing for the GATE entrance exam in my 3rd year as well as my 4th year and will see where life leads me but honestly i just want to start working and gaibn indstry experience and make money and develop skills faster

They fake a lot of their placements....now the bangalore campus currently has 40%placements but they fake the placement rates to make it look like its 80 or 90% which is sad...i heard that if u have really bad marks and couldnt get placed(a lot of ece and eee people, cause they will purposefully try to fail u so that u can apply for the couse again) they will make u sign a document were u agree u never sat for placements.

MIT Manipal owns engineering!

Admission here are very consistent and just two methods. No other method works here as MIT Manipal has very clear plans. Either you can qualify through Manipal Entrance Test or JEE scores but 90 percentile is required. For B.Tech courses, Manipal Entrance Test is conducted by the college and students on the score and ranking are alloted branch. CSE and AI are taken by top rankers and then mid rankers can take our branch. However, first choice is always with the students. In MAHE or MIT Manipal the university only accepts their own entrance scored as JEE qualifications and all have very limited seats.
