After completing two years as an IT Analyst, I wanted to push myself ahead with the knowledge and understanding of Business Management. IIM is a brand name in the list of public institutions in the country for imparting quality education in this domain. After all the interviews, I received the final admission letter from IIM Sirmaur. One of the key reasons for joining IIM Sirmaur is that it is one of the budding IIMs which is striving to build its image in the industry.

MBA provides a complete two-year package of Business Exposure. Interactive learning and guest lectures form a major part of it. The faculty to student ratio, is a bit skewed, as it's a budding IIM. Faculty members are alums of IITs and IIMs and a few are Post Doctoral Research Scholars from foreign universities. The term exams were mostly case-based, where we need to apply the concepts and arrive at a feasible solution. We were evaluated on the basis of writing skills, application of frameworks, and feasibility of the solution.

All companies visiting for final placements also offered internships for first-year students. Refer to the placements report for vivid details. Major companies included Aditya Birla, Shorthills Tech, ICICI bank, Gamasec, EY, etc. Projects include Business Development, Digital Marketing, Equity Research, and Recruitment related to the HR domain.

Campus placements start mostly in the fifth or sixth trimester. The placement season was affected by the pandemic and it went online for the current batch. More than 90% of the students have been placed in various firms with packages ranging from 12-16 lacs per annum. If a student is unable to get placed, they are informed about various platforms where they may apply and get placements

The fee structure did not have bifurcations. It's just the 11.85 lacs total fees divided into semesters. Scholarships are given to SC/ST and Minority students only. The same has not been extended to General Merit, EWS, and OBC students.

Annual fest - Sierra comprised of various online gaming and quizzing events. Since classes are conducted online, the amenities are not being utilized. Books have been delivered home. IIMS stands for IIM Sports. Online and offline extra-curricular including SPL are worth enjoying.

4-time meal, with a menu including all North Indian dishes, Chinese night are available. The registration process is very smooth, and hostels are double-occupancy types. Study table, almirahs, and rack for storing some essentials are provided in rooms. Hostel charges are included in the total fee structure itself.

There was no Group Discussion. The written Aptitude test was conducted on the topic - "Activism as the backbone of Democracy". The PI revolved around the role of activism in shaping India's democracy. The personal interview preparation is focused on your opinion regarding current happenings in India and the World. How will the problems be tackled as a leader, specifically as a businessman
