Remarks

I am a student of Xavier Business School at St. Xavier's University. It has one of the best quality of education and placements are taken very well care of. Both theoretical and application approach is used to teach us. For MBA, you have to give an entrance exam(CAT, MAT, XAT). After clearing the entrance, you can apply further for admission. In the further steps, you will have GDPIWT(Group Discussion Personal Interview and Written Test). After clearing all the steps, your admission is confirmed. Expect a lot of assignments and case studies and presentations. These help us in a better understanding of the subject. Usually, the entrance exam for this is taken by the 1st-2nd week of January and the session is expected to start by June-July of the same year. It is a 2-year residential course which means that you have stayed on the campus in the hostel. It has a lot of nonacademic clubs as well. One demerit that I feel is the fees that they charge is very high fees as compared to other colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

All the students have a healthy as well a friendly relationship with all the faculty members. Each teacher is extremely helpful. All the professors are highly profiled and experienced teachers. Except for 1-2, all hold a Doctorate degree in their respective field. The quality and the method of teaching are bang on. XBS has internal exams which are called CIA i.e. Continuous Internal Assessment(60 marks) + external exams i.e. the end term examinations(40 marks). All exams are taken at the scheduled time and all doubts are cleared before the exams. Classes are in full swing.

Internships Opportunities

5

We have a two months SIP i.e. Summer Internship Programme provided by the college itself. If we want we can opt-out of this opportunity if we are able to manage the internship on our own. It will be a paid internship.

Placement Experience

5

Campus placements are in full swing. About 80-95% of students get placed by very good companies with a good pay scale. Companies like PwC, TCS, Deloitte, HDFC, Berger paints, ITC, Decathlon, etc are regular visitors. Final placement opportunities are provided by the college in the 4th semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

The only con that I find for this University is the fees. It is quite high as compared to other colleges and universities but it is worth it given all the facilities, campus infrastructure, quality of education, placements, etc. 80-95% of students get placed in the campus placements with good pay. For MBA, since it is a professional course, there is no financial assistance or scholarship provided by the college. But it is available for other departments and courses.

Campus Life

5

We have a number of events in a year. But we are an unfortunate batch since everything is online. But this did not discourage us. We had all our events successfully. We had inter-college fests as well. All were a success. We are not on campus as of now but indeed it is beautiful.

Hostel Facilities

5

At XBS, a hostel is mandatory. MBA is a residential course in St. Xavier's University. A lot of hostel fests and events take place in the campus during nonclass hours. We are the Covid batch and so we are at home. We haven't experienced the hostel life yet but the reviews from the seniors are amazing.

Admission

Entrance and merit both along with GDPIWT

Interview Experience

5

When I joined this college, unfortunately, there was lockdown imposed and therefore we did not have the GD round but we had a telephonic interview. It was a strictly professional interview asking you questions relating to your course.

Other Applied Colleges

Yes | MBA

Because St. Xavier's University is better over the others in which I applied in terms of everything.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose the course only because of our HOD, but after completing my course, he left the course. He has helped us with all the things like web development and seo skills. By doing it practically for every student, he offers a domain for every student. I had difficulty with Google Ads & meta ads because it was taught by another faculty. The exam times were different by 3 months.

Placement Experience:

Till now I am seeing in my own eyes that in previous year, there is a 270 student in marketing and now right now the 15 student left to place and rest of the team are already placed to a many companies like ENYF Flipkart in Bandan Bank ICICI bank in a mini sector in FMCG also and FMCT also, but and retail, but I told that the ratio of placement is too higher than other college and also giving the good package is. The main thing with the job rule should be maintain the package.

Only missing thing is that the student are getting less practical knowledge as compare to theory paper.

The good thing about this college are the activities that take place every Saturday, which is quite interesting and knowledgeable. The bad thing about the college is that the departments are divided on the basis of their courses so the students do not gather as a whole bunch of college.
