IHM Mumbai is the oldest Hotel Management institute in India and is a prestigeous college. The faculties are also very experienced, helping and friendly. The campus is very small as compared to other colleges annd also the infrastructure is not very well maintained. The building has many cracks as it is very old. The campus is neat and clean and hygienic. This college offers one of the best placements and exposure in this field.

This course teaches you on how to be hospitable with your client and technicalities of hotel industry which a lay man might not know. Most of the part is practical in this course so it is fun to learn new things every week. The teachers are well qualified having good experience in this field. There are a total of 4 theory(2mid term and 2 final) exams in a year. There are 2 final practical exams for each semester. But we have practicals and assessments almost every week where we get to know how much we have learnt during the week.

The campus placements are very good. All the big 5 star hotels come to our college for recruitments. Though the starting salary is not very good but you will progress depending on your skills and experience.

The biggest fest at our college is Cornucopia generally held in the month of February where students arrange stalls preparing different food and beverages from around the world. Also there are many social activities held by the college where students can participate and express their talent.

The fee for the year has to be made in two installments i.e, one per semester. There are no such scholarships for general category students but there are some scholarships for sc, st and other category students. Loan facility is also available for students. There are no such on campus jobs.

The quality of meal is not very good but okayish. You get one veg and one nonveg preparation for your meal along with rice. Hostel is not that great as the building is really old but it is quite cheaper as compared to other rental services in that area. Dadar is really an expensive area to reside.

There was an online Join Entrance Exam for the admission i.e, NCHMCT JEE. It was a 200 question MCQ paper which was held online. It was quite easy to clear the exam, the level was not very difficult. It included aptitude, situation based questions, grammar, vocabulary, basic maths and calculations, current affairs and general knowledge.
