Remarks

Our college management is very strict and no mass bunk is allowed. They should give some liberty to students. Non veg food is not allowed inside campus which is most annoying. Exams are very very strict and fair.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course is relevant to engineering degree. It is not much research driven but you have to study on your own to get a good professional knowledge and to get placed in a good company. You can gain technical knowledge from your course but you need to be focused on your objectives in order to gain full knowledge.

Placement Experience

4

Our college has a very good placement record. Many big companies come and hire. Cisco, Bosch, Mahindra, Dell, Accencture are some leading companies and much more companies also come. Placement percentage is very nice, about 90%. It is still improving day by day. Placement cell is very supportive and provides training before placement.

College Events

3

Halcyon is the biggest fest celebrated in SIT. It is a cultural fest for which everyone waits for a year. It shows a very large number of events and also large number of participants from different colleges and our college too. Ethnic day is also celebrated.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee is expensive for COMEDK candidates but very feasible for CET ones. For COMEDK students annual fees is greater than 3 lacs including hostel fees. Hostel fees is same for all. CET candidates has to pay much less fee, about some thousands annually.

Fees and Financial Aid

College do not have any scholarship schemes. Right now I am availing my college fees from my parents.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus Life is quite boring. There are very few places in city to enjoy. Population of girls in my branch is huge, almost 3:2 ratio of girls to that of boys. College has very disciplined environment. Sports facilities are good. There is enough population of North Indians. Administration is very strict. Labs are good. Workshops are regularly arranged by several clubs. Cultural activities are held.

Hostel Facilities

3

There are four boys' hostel separate for all four years and two girls' hostel. Hostels are very large. First year hostel is best. It has two in a room accommodation. Rooms and other facilities are good. But mess food is not up to the mark. PGs are also available nearby college. Bus facilities are there for hostel girls as their hostel is far away from college. Hostel life is fun but overall college life is very boring and monotonous.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are quite good, everyone is friendly in college. Alumni network of college is also beneficial to guide you towards right path and there experiences are good to understand.

Admission

I wanted to pursue graduation in software field so I have chosen this course (BE). The location was a fair good factor for choosing a college. I wrote COMEDK exam and got this college in counseling. For non Karnataka students COMEDK and for Karnataka students CET exams are there. After that counseling happens and you get admission in a college.

Faculty

4

Our college has not much great faculties but they are knowledgeable and experts in their own fields. Many are from IITs and NITs and some from foreign colleges. For extra subjects like English and placement related training our college has other group of professionals. Most of them are clear in their teachings. But most of them are very boring and deliver boring lectures. Lecturers are certified and very experienced. Most of them are aged.

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
