Remarks

College management is slightly on the stricter side but apart from that everything is good.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Cec landran is affiliated to IKGPTU University, the University syllabus and exam structure is not that great but yes it is like other normal universities (and by I don't mean top level universities like ipu). Well yes in a way this has helped me in becoming a better individual cause I learned a lot and improved myself a lot in these 3-4 years. Yes college organises industrial visits almost every semester. For preparing students for campus placements college has a whole department called TPP whose only focus is to train the students to get job ready.

Placement Experience

4

Well as I said this college has the best image in terms of getting placements and that is true. A lot of companies do visit the campus every year from big companies that offer higher package to mid range ones that are mass recruiters. So one can easily get a job but it all depends on you, you have to work hard for getting a job cause competition is very high. And TPP department is always their for your training they train you in subjects like verbal, aptitude and technical. And according to me around 50-60% students get placed every year again depends on the students college is able to bring a good number of companies.

College Events

4

All types of events are celebrated here. College has an annual fest called Parivartan and it is the best from technical events to cultural you name it cec has covered them all. It is the best time of the year cause it is such a huge event that no one can resist himself from getting involved with it. And besides Parivartan cec celebrates variety of festivals and also conducts lot of technical competitions throughout the year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Talking about the fee structure (keeping in mind it is a private college) I feel like we are getting value for the money that we are spending. For my btech course I am giving 90k/year which is quite less compared to other private colleges in India and the services they provide or the placement opportunities they are offering won't let you feel that it is to expensive.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have not opted for any scholarships and I am not sure that our college offers any because in my 3 years in this college I haven't met or know anyone who has got a scholarship. I am not quite sure that they don't offer it.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is awesome, campus is just 10-15 min away from Chandigarh and has all the facilities from food courts like ccd, subway, nescafe etc to sports facilities for cricket, football, volleyball, badminton, basketball, table tennis etc. Gender ratio is quite alright, number of boys are greater than the girls but not by a great margin. They have all the required stuff in different types of laboratories for experimentation and research. Whole year there are different types of competitions, webinars, cultural events and activities that won't make your college life boring by any means.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are very friendly, no case of ragging at all and they do help the juniors. I personally was in touch with a lot of seniors in my campus and they always guided me in the right way, talked about college placements, procedure and number of companies visiting and all that stuff.

Admission

Admission is done on basis of 12th percentage. I got admission in this college through this way only, I had secured 83. 4% in class 12 exam. Admission process is simple based on your percentage you can select your stream like I got to select Computer science stream cause I had slightly good score. I got to know about this college from a relative and they said it is one of the best in terms of campus placements and teaching. So we went there with all my certificates and applied for btech cse course.

Faculty

3.5

If I had to rate the faculty in cec landran I would give 7 out of 10. Some of the faculty members are great they have proper knowledge of the subject and can guide you in the right direction. Tpp department also plays a very important role as they train to be job ready and their faculty is doing a great task. I am enrolled in Btech course and it is 4 years long as everyone knows and in these 4 years I always had the right faculty person to consult to or get help from.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.
