Remarks
Sri Aurobindo College is at the top of the list of badly managed colleges. If you're a student who can live without making friends and can survive with students who have considerable lower IQ than you, and is only interested in himself/herself and just wants a degree. Be a student at Sri Aurobindo College.
Entrance Preview
No entrance exam. I got admission in the college though my Class XII Board marks. I score 84% in it. No interview was taken.
Course Curriculum Overview
Since my course was part of FYUP (2013-2016 batch), majority of the curriculum was edited out. In in 2014, the course was rolled back to the old 3 year course. My curriculum suffered from this roll back. Many of the subjects which were supposed to be taught were never taught in the college.
Internships Opportunities
No, Sri Aurobindo College does not provide internships for the students. Students themselves have to look for internships outside the college.
Placement Experience
No companies came to Sri Aurobindo college as the majority of the students were failing in their exams, or had no knowledge of their respective subject. The companies did not want to waste their time that's why they didn't come. We have a common placement for all students of Delhi University. Students of Sri Aurobindo college went to that placement.
College Events
We had annual fest in our college, which was February of each year. The fest's name was Mehak. In my three-year college life, I've never gone to my college's fest. They did not appeal to me, the college students were not very bright for me and the performers who came to perform in my college were Sub-par.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Sri Aurobindo College is one of the colleges whose fees is the lowest. I had to pay Rs. 4500, Rs. 5300, and Rs. 7700 for my First, Second and Third year respectively. The fee of the college is nominal and I faced no problem in paying my fees. Other students were also able to afford the fees. The payment procedure was straight forward and quick. No time was wasted in Sri Aurobindo College when the matter came in regards to money.
Fees and Financial Aid
No scholarship or loan facility is offered by Sri Aurobindo College. Since, the fees to be paid in college is very nominal. There's no requirement for loan.
Campus Life
Campus life is very slow and uninteresting. There were hardly any excursion or educational trips. There are no formal line of communication which notified the students about any activities in the college. I have won 2 competitions, one quiz and one debate each. I have cleared my third-year exams and yet to receive my certificates. The ratio of male students is higher to that of female students.
Hostel Facilities
Sri Aurobindo College has no hostel facilities. Students from outside New Delhi have to rent room for themselves in nearby areas like Malviya Nagar, Hauz Khas or Shivalik. The rent is high, but it's near the college, students had to compromise. We have a superb canteen in our college which serves superb deep fried oily food.
Alumni/Alumna
Since the college is not very good, the senior students refrain from making any contacts with the juniors. In three-years of being a student of Sri Aurobindo College, I have never seen an alumni help us out with placements.
Exam Structure
The pattern followed for Exam structure is the same for all colleges of Delhi University. Exams happen in may and November of a year. Not much gap is given in between the exams, which left us with very few days for preparation. As I was a student of B.Com Hons, we had no lab sessions. The schedule was not very tight or hectic.
Faculty
The Faculty in Sri Aurobindo is very good. The college may not have a good infrastructure but my reason of joining Sri Aurobindo was for its impeccable faculty. The teachers were friendly, they helped us out with our problems. During submissions, if a student had a genuine reason for not submitting a project on time, they were given grace of few more days. The faculty were well read and I also had very philosophical conversations with them. I learnt about many things from my teachers.
