The college has an excellent curriculum specially in my subject. There is a clear cut emphasis on subjects which are most useful for research in the future. The professor greatly encourage the students to take up research as a career option and learning is made a habit.

Internships Opportunities

The college provides internships in various places. Most noted is MoSPI with a stipend of Rs. 5000 per month.

Placements are more or less good though there is plenty of room for improvement. Companies like HSBC (7.75 lpa) and Genpact (4.75 lpa), Mu sigma, Affine, EXL, Novartis, Delloit and many others come for placements. Salary depends on the particular course and type of job. But overall the salary and remunerations are good.

Exam Structure

The exams are taken 4 times every year. 2 internals and 2 semesters. The exam routine is set in consultation with the students with the teachers providing gaps between exams for us to prepare well. Apart from this we get holidays before the exams to prepare well.

The faculty of this college is brilliant. Some of them are known all over the world for their research. Their research articles get published in various journals throughout the world. Their recommendations are greatly helpful in securing a seat in the foreign colleges later on.

The Physical Chemistry faculties are the best I got, that influenced me to carry forward my research carrier in Physical Chemistry. I would say the course is good but you have to opt for masters and PhD to get a good placement. After bsc there's not any placement. The curriculum was basically practical and theoretical based. But I think it should be more practical so that we can get a job after doing bsc. The teaching method was good I didn't have any problem with that. As it was under Calcutta University so the exam questions were too difficult, sometimes it came out of our syllabus , i think they should change this a little bit .

The syllabus for BSc. Microbiology Hons. was in line with my interests. Few topics like virology, bacteriology, and diversity of the microbial workd are what drew my attention to pick this course. In terms of relevance and comprehensiveness of the course curriculum, my rating is solid 4.1 out of 5. Because it offers a variety of courses like compulsory english, environmental science, constitution values of India, Inter Disciplinary Courses where one can opt for a variety of subjects which change along with the course proceeds or semester changes. Not only that two major papers and one minor paper are present throughout the semester. Remarks:

This college is extremely good and known for its discipline and the stress it puts on the importance of studying. Also, there are many extra curricular activities thag one can take part in, and the teachers are helpful and encourages for a better future and are also vert capable. I opted for the course because any biology related course excites me and this college has one of the best faculty for this course.
