Remarks

Good aspects: awesome placement and internship, college and teachers are very lenient, getting marks in university exam are easy, numerous extracurricular activities. Bad aspects: some teachers are not good in teaching or are not interested in teaching, the DTU app is just not good considering it was bought for 2 crores it keeps on lagging and is full of glitches. Admission process and dates: admission process was very simple I basically applied by JAC website and then when I got selected I was called for document verification. Reason for preferring this college over others: this is the best college that I was able to get with my JEE mains rank.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I chose this course because this was the best course that I was able to get for my rank. Approximately 2000 students were given admission for engineering courses only. So teacher to student ratio is approximately around 1:20 i.e. 1 teacher per 20 students. Faculty is mix type i.e. some are really good teachers, some are ok teachers and some teachers don't even know about the subject that they are teaching. teaching methods are simple blackboard teaching in class and live demonstrations of experiments in the labs. The exam is always timely. Moreover, they are quite easy. I can say that DTU gives the easiest exams as compared to other universities. Teachers also say the same thing. So passing the semester is hardly a problem for anyone.

Internships Opportunities

4

I can name some companies, Accenture: data analyst: 2 months: 50,000 pm. Civil corps: business development intern: 2 months: 5000 pm. So basically these are the types of internships that are available in DTU, the stipend ranges from 0 to 150000. To qualify for internships takes a bit of dedication, you must be thorough in the subject related to the internship and you must be having projects related to that field to show your calibre in the internship interview. communication skills and personality matters the most. sometimes people with good academics are left behind in internships as compared to people with good personality and communication skills this happened in placement in internships of Accenture in the previous year i.e. 2020.

Placement Experience

4

At the start of 4th-semester students can apply for campus placements but students can apply for campus internships at the starting of this year. some internships can also give PPO. Google, IBM, TCM, Infosys, Samsung, Qualcomm, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Amazon, adobe, Swiggy, etc there are too many companies I cannot name all the companies. The average package depends based on department in my department (that is mechanical) average package is around 7 LPA. Maximum package varies yearly but one can assume it to be around 24 LPA. In mechanical almost 50 percent students get placed, other branches have different selection ratios. Basically, I'm thinking about getting placement from college but if not then I think about appearing for gate mechanical 2022.

Fees and Financial Aid

Starting fees in my time was around 1,80,000 which increases approximately about 10 percent per year. DTU provides scholarship to those students who come from poor families, almost every poor child can get the scholarships. I did not get any scholarships or jobs on the campus as due to COVID this year fewer companies came.

Campus Life

5

ENGIFEST (one of the largest fest of India) is conducted in February, other invents like AAHVAN (sports fest) is also conducted around February or March. There are many other fests also whose names I cannot recall. The library is not really big but it still has a huge amount of books but books are not enough for each and every student of the college as they are in less quantity so the early student can get to issue the books from the library before there are none left. Classrooms have projectors but they are rarely used because no teacher knows how to use them. There are many sports activities like football, basketball, athletics, gym, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, kabaddi, cricket.

Other Applied Colleges

USIT | Computer Science

because, I heard that Mechanical in DTU was better

Students after completing third year are eligible for placement. Placements start before starting of fourth year, and it requires students to have no backlogs in any subjects. However companies can imply their own rules to filter the students such as minimum CGPA criteria. But placements of our college is one of the best placement for a non-IIT college, despite having so many student intake.

Placements are decent, average package goes from 5lpa to 10lpa. Highest it has went 84lpa in Amazon so far and can for sure grow in future. 7th semester students become eligible for placement drives and companies like amazon, microsoft, newgen, tcs, ibm, etc are major recruiters here. Around 80% students do get placed but you can definitely be among them by refining your skills and maintaining a good cgpa. I plan to go for off campus placements as well as I'm interested in AI related roles but hoping for even better.

Placement Experience:

The placements are fantastic , many companies like google amazon and FAANG companies come here . Although i cant compare it with top IIT s but still a 25 lakh per annum package in CSE is still remarkable. The placement cell is often influenced by Placement coordinator but then DTU takes action against them and debar them from placements . If one does not get placement in DTU. , the DTU tag will obviously be more than useful in after course placements

Highest package for the last year was more than 1 crore. Avg package is somewhere between 7-9 lpa. 50-60 % students get placemnt from the college including off campus placements. I plan to either start my masters or join a good job if possible as whatever situation arises at the end of my course at this college.
