Remarks

College is very good just betterment needed for infrastructure as it is a 100 year old college.

Entrance Preview

I got into UVCE via KCET(Karnataka Common Entrance Test) and scored 133 out of 180 in it. I got 5k ranking in the exam. I gave JEE Main, Advanced and BITSAT and got 104,45 and 265 respectively. I opted for Mechanical Engineering as it is a core subject and programming has been a hobby and developing logic has been just an interest and I wanted to be in production related Areas. I joined UVCE because it is known for it's core placements and provided exposure for Personality Development.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

As I have joined my college recently I have not seen a lot of it but I have joined IEEE UVCE which has a lot of scope for research as many of my seniors who are in the same club have published papers and created lots of projects and mini projects that were mentored by our professors especially for mechanical students.

Internships Opportunities

Yes as my college is government aided many government organisations provide internships and our seniors help us for internships in their companies as well like General Motors,Mercedes Benz,Ashok Leyland, Bosch, L&T and government organisations like BHEL,BEL and KPTC

Placement Experience

5

UVCE has good placements as 1062 call letters were received for 425 students and all good IT as well as core companies like Dell, Westland, Mercedes Benz,General Motors, Ford, Otis Elevators, Putzmeiser. A total of 135 companies visited our college in the academic year 2015-2016. And all students were placed in companies.

College Events

4

We have 4 fests every year namely Kagada, Inspiron, Fiesta, Impetus, Esportivo, Milagro and regular IEEE events like treasure hunts, story writing, Debates and science symposium. Different clubs hold different events for the members in the respective group.

Fee Structure And Facilities

UVCE is a government college so fees is very feasible around 28k for B.E students. KEA allotment fee is Rupees 18090 and College fees around 9800 for KV students and 8300 for Karnataka Board students.Hostel fee is 50000 per annum. In short it is very subsidised

Fees and Financial Aid

UVCE Vision scholarship and Karnataka Government's scholarship for needy as well as backward students is also provided and UVCE alumni scholarship is also provided.

Campus Life

1

Campus life is good as not a lot of lecture time is allotted to professors and labs are held regularly.Sport facilities are not so good but due to the presence of Kanteerva Stadium nearby the need is fulfilled and many tech fests and get together are hosted in our college.

Hostel Facilities

2

I am a Day scholar so I don't know a lot about Hostel facilities but the infrastructure is not so good and rooms are sharing and fee as mentioned above is Rupees 50000 and adequate seats are available and food is okay and manageable as I have been told.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni have supported and provided regular placements in our college and have been able to contribute for the betterment of our college.

Exam Structure

Labs are very frequent and 2 internal exams and semester exams each semester we have 2 labs and a workshop every week as we are in the P-Cycle right now. Internal exams are 1 hour long and 2 subjects each day but classes are not so regular as we have just 2-3 periods everyday.

Admission

After the exams regular notifications regarding verification and fee payment were published on KEA site I had paid the admission fees online via the same site and after my seat allotment I visited the college and made Demand Draft for the college fees as given in admission order. The admission took place between 30 July-8 August so I applied on 2 August. The admission procedure took 15-20 minutes but due to huge masses it took a little time, the administration was good and admission took place smoothly.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty is really good and experienced who have been teaching for 25-30 years and equipment is both modern as well as old that gives us practice in both and each professor has a really good grasp of the subject as well as the ability to clear our doubts quite precisely.

Placement Experience:

lacements at MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology Placements at MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology are decent overall, with stronger outcomes for CS-related branches and moderate but reliable opportunities for core branches like Chemical Engineering. ???? Placement Eligibility Students generally become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester (final year). Some companies also allow pre-placement offers (PPOs) through internships after the 6th semester. ???? Companies Visiting the Campus ???? Common Recruiters (Across Branches) TCS Infosys Wipro Accenture Cognizant Capgemini IBM L&T Deloitte (limited roles) ???? Core / Chemical-Related Opportunities L&T Reliance (limited roles) Schneider Electric Saint-Gobain Some manufacturing, quality, and operations-based companies Core chemical companies visit in limited numbers, so many Chemical Engineering students also sit for IT, analytics, and operations roles. ???? Packages Offered (Approximate) ???? Salary Range Highest Package (overall): ~?40–50 LPA (off-campus / international offer, mostly CS) Highest for Core / Chemical roles: ~?8–10 LPA Average Package (overall): ?7–8 LPA Average for Chemical Engineering: ?4–6 LPA ???? Job Profiles Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) Process / Quality Engineer Analyst / Consultant Software Engineer (for interested students) ???? Placement Percentage Overall placement rate: ~90–95% Chemical Engineering: ~60–70% Students with good CGPA, internships, and skills tend to get placed earlier and in better roles. ???? Employability & Skill Development The college provides: Placement training sessions Aptitude and soft-skill workshops Coding and interview preparation support However, students are expected to upskill on their own, especially for core industry roles or higher-paying profiles. ???? My Plans After Completing the Degree After completing my B.E. in Chemical Engineering, I plan to: Gain industry experience through campus placement or off-campus opportunities

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th sem. The highest on campus package this year was around 64 LPA, while as far as I know, the top 20% of the students usually get offers in the 16-24LPA range.
