Entrance Preview

The college accepts JEE MAINS score, and for me, i scored 150 and i opted for this college, because of it's reputation of being one of the top ten in the country.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Engineering Physics is a branch that doesn't perform too well in the placements department, but for those who are interested in the research field, specially in the field of semiconductor electronics, then this branch provides a really good, if not the best chances of getting into a premier masters college overseas.

Internships Opportunities

The college has an active Training and Placement department. Over 100 companies visit the campus for both winter and summer internships in our third year with the stipend varying from five thousand a month all the way up to seventy five thousand a month.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placements and Job opportunities are really great with over a hundred companies visiting the campus every year. Offers anywhere from three lacks a year to any where up to a crore is made, however such overs are only seen in software and related fields. Placements for the core branches and those based on natural sciences is fairly limited and often one has to settle for a non tech job.

College Events

3

Our college has one big cultural fest every year in the month of feb which lasts for three days. Apart from that we also have a technical fest, in which all the technical societies get to organise events like robo race and hackathons. Also we have events like dandia nigh, freshers and other small celebrations.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is really great. When compared to private colleges or even the IIT's, the fee is really nominal. My tuition fee is around seventy five thousand for two semester and the Hostel fee rounds up to fifteen thousand a year. The mess bill comes out to be around three thousand (depends on what you eat).

Fees and Financial Aid

The college administration, apart from helping the backward classes, also award the top two position holders from a department every semester, which in my mind is a really good incentive for students to perform better in class.

Campus Life

3

The campus life is a really nice balance of academics and a healthy social environment. The administration is strict, but not so much so as to hinder independent as well as social growth. Extracurricular are great here, with over a hundred societies ranging from debating clubs, social help groups all the way to robotics and unmanned vehicle teams.

Hostel Facilities

4

The Hostel Rooms are really nice and the only complain i have about them is that we have to change them every year. While we do have to share the room with two other students in the first year, but by the third year of college, we do get a single room. For those who don't get the hostel, there are a lot of good PG's near by at affordable rates.

Alumni/Alumna

My interactions with the seniors and alumni has been fairly limited, but otherwise if willing, the seniors are really helpful with not only the academics, but also with placement/internship procedures as well as guidance towards higher studies.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is really simple. We have a mid semester exam for twenty marks and an end semester exam for seventy marks. The remaining ten percent is in the teacher's hand and either is given based on a quiz or assignment along with the attendance. Similar structure is followed for the labs.

Admission

The admission process was really simple, everything was online and we just had to fill our preference in order and had to wait for our turn (based on merit) and had to pay the fee and submit all the necessary documents to the college administration in order to confirm our admission.

Faculty

4

The college faculty is decent in the regard that the senior faculty is really good, but there is a clear shortage of such professors, which is usually met by guest faculty or PHD students, which can be a problem sometimes since they lack is experience.

Placement Experience:

The annual placements at NIT Delhi are consistently getting better year by year where the top branches such as CSE, ECE, and IT are leading the way with their strong placement rates. Many students get hired at very attractive salaries by well-established companies like TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Microsoft, and Amazon. For example, the CTC of the best offers have reached as high as ?15–20 LPA in some instances. The Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical branches also contribute to the university’s overall placement record to some extent. Those students usually boost the available opportunities for themselves by taking up internships and off-campus offers. Moreover, the students who fail to get a job on the campus can still benefit out of the college atmosphere where the strong basics of coding, projects, and practical skills are taught which makes the students quite employable at startups, off-campus, or even when going for higher studies like M.Tech/GATE/abroad. To sum up, NIT Delhi is a very solid foundation for the students whether they want to have a career or continue with their education.
