My views on SILB

Sufficient staff, Good Library and instruments for practicals. No Playground, Small campus. Admission based on the entrance exam conducted by HP University. Registration and Counselling in August. HP University Affiliated and got subsidized seat.

I chose botany because I always have an interest in sciences related to life but rejected zoology because I can not see the dissection of animals. Botany is also the subject I love most and its practicals are easy to perform at home even. And have a special interest in medicinal plants. Faculty is sufficient to take classes of both years. Three teachers for 2 classes. So I can say the ratio for faculty to students is nearly 1:25. Well qualified teachers with phD.and qualified SET, GATE. Teaching method good relate with day to day life and keep the focus on the syllabus. Examination every 2nd month in between this Tests are also held. Examination moderate equally tough questions and easy.

No such placements are offered for at least my course. May be for BBA students and Other life science classes. My plans after getting a degree are to qualify for the National Eligibility Test conducted by CSIR. Also want to clear State Eligibility Test. After that, I want to continue my studies in PhD.

The fee hike is firstly dependent on subsidized seats who have to pay a half fee. Also if any student has it's family or relative to admit then some 5000 less fee from mutual fees of two. Also if any already pursuing student brings some admissions then he/she will relax with 2500 rupees less than total. I did not get any scholarships but I got subsidized seat so I had to pay half of total fee that was 43000.

Life was harder in beginning because new there and no such big campus limited students and also space. Later the campus life was very good with friends and few teachers were like friends so more easier life. I forgot special name for annual function. We had no auditorium for big functions but yes it's also good we enjoyed all functions instead. Library very good.Limited books but sufficient for our courses. Very silent environment to study in Library. Journals also available. Classrooms small but can handle students strength. OHPs and other projectors available for smart classes. IP room have enough computers for students.

The entrance test was held by HP University Shimla so based on marks in this test student taken in counselling. In counselling Professors from HP University came and they saw documents and ask general questions regarding personal information nothing about course.
