I had cracked IIT JEE 2013 for this admission. I had chosen this college because I have to compromise between a better course or an older iit at that time I have chosen to go for an older IIT. The admission process was based on JEE mains and in advance, there were no interviews for admission. Based on the scores of JEE advance seat allocation is done.

The course curriculum is not so good it's an average collection of courses related to our department there should be more courses related to computers and research-based. The current curriculum is being followed for many years. There are three types of electives offered to us 2-3 per semester they can be from department, management, or humanities.

Yes, the the institute also provides internships for 3rd-year students in both the fields of research and industries, there are some foreign collaborations are there. In the on-campus internship process, most of the companies that come are from its sector and are startups. There are very few core companies that come every year for interns. The stipend provided by the companies during interns is good around 15k-40k per month. The top companies that visits for interns are itc, adobe,Microsoft, Flipkart,Quikr,olacabs,gs,capital one, etc.

The placement and job opportunities are great in it field because most of the companies visited are from it field, they ask coding questions in their test. placements opportunities are very poor in core jobs there are hardly 10-15 placements in core jobs. There are generally 90% placements with an average of around 6-8 LPA computer science being exception having average 15lpa.The packages offered by companies lies between 8-20 LPA and there are rare cases of 50+ lpa also from computer science

There are many festivals and small guest lectures are observed in our institute biggest being thomso-the annual cultural; fest and cognizance the technical fest. Both of them have a budget of more than 1 crore every year and have the participation of around 2-3ksome other fest are:shristisangramvirasat(cultural music)Sankalp(social fest)cycle race sports meet inter IIT sports.

The fee structure here should feasible and cheap being a govt. institute but it's very expensive around 70k per semester including mess and hostel 45k is tution fee and rest for hostel and mess.

Yes, there are some scholarships for students from the institute and other organizations and from the alumni also. Most of the scholarships are income and reservation-based. talent-based scholarships are rare. Related to loan facility the institute sbi branch provides scholar loan underpayment starts after the completion of the degree, this facility is availed by many students.

The college life is very diverse anytime there is something happening on the campus.institute is very rich in extracuricullur there are around 42 groups related to different activities.iit Roorkee has the best sports facility among all its. there are two multi-activity centers for students. The gender ratio is very poor in our institute around 800:100 there are very few girls most of them are in cs, chemical amd meta. The political, religious, economic, and other status are very good and it's a very peaceful campus. There is very much freedom for students. political activities of the institute are also performed very peacefully.

The mess quality is very bad in all hostels which results in huge wastage mess fee is 12000 occasionally good food is served. Hostels are average and have full seats for all the students.There are 10 boys and 2 girls hostel

The Alumni network is very good in our institute there is a special organization for this purpose which organize all the alumni meets, guest lectures, alumni scholarships, etc.It is very helpful when they share their experiences it motivates us some of them also come for placements in their companies and startups. The senior interaction is also very helpful but it is not at a very large scale, although ragging is banned in our institute completely somehow it restricts the junior-senior relation

The faculties of our department are qualified and have good knowledge of the subjects but they are least interested to teach they only teach limited things that too in a very boring or simple method. But some faculties are there who provide real values.
