Remarks

I wanted to get into core branch of engineering also I did not want to take a drop. During the counselling process, I got Electronics and Communication Engineering branch in NIT Srinagar. Therefore, I chose it. Plus, you get a lot of time to prepare for other competitive exams at NIT Srinagar. 75% attendance criteria is not very strictly enforced.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum is up to the mark and in accordance with GATE and other Competitive exams. Every semester on an average there are 6 courses and 2 labs. The department is not very lenient in awarding marks and you really have to put in a lot of effort to score high grades. As far as industrial exposure is concerned, you can get referrals from faculty members and other profeesors.

Class Size: 68Course Fees: INR 600000 per year

College Events

Due to disturbance in the valley, one may not see a large no. of fests frequently. However, all festivals are celebrated in grandeur. However, when fests are held they see participation from Schools, Colleges, and Universities within the Kashmir Valley.

Campus Life

Wi-Fi and LAN services are sufficiently provided. Occasionally, there may be some trouble in some routers but overall campus has been provided with open air Wi-fi Connectivity. 3 Hostels have wired connectivity for each student. Library has been recently renovated and is well-maintained and provides LAN speed up to 200 MBps. Types of equipment in labs are sufficiently available for any student to learn.

Hostel Facilities

More hostels are needed as at present 4 students per room are accommodated in lower years and you get a single allotment in Jhelum Hostel in the final year. However, the infrastructure of the hostels in good. They have proper provisions for accommodating 4 guys per room. Washrooms are cleaned every day. Sanitation staffs work regularly and cleanliness is always maintained.

Hostel Fee: INR 44000 per year

Placement Experience:

Marshal the placement resources so well that our college has close to 90% placement records. Siemens, ABB and such companies where ECE engineers can contribute are the companies that hires us and the average for our ECE branch is 6 lakhs or so.

Overall a good University with below average placements.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placemnt after third year. total 8 companies from local Food and beverage companies and agriculture related companie came for campus placements. Most of the student didnt take offers from the companies because none of the companies were offering more than 15k to 18k per month I also didnt take the placement offer for the same reason and now i am thinking for further studies from somewhere that have good placements Out of 23 students who were eligible for placements only 3 accepted the offer.

Is Nit Srinagar worth it?

Placement Experience:

Yes my college offers placements for each branch students becomes eligible after sixth semester if they doent have any active supply in there course and very company have their own criteria to make eligble to the student for placements like cgpa etc. companies visited in civil was L&T, Tata steel, Jsw, Afcon etc and the average package was 6 lakh every company brought diffrent no. of offers average was 5 in civil highest package got to mine class crc of 1300000 that was a psu and the percentage of students got placed was 10% only. mine plans after was to prepare for goverments exams.

Is Nit Srinagar worth it?

I got this college on the basis of councellign held after jee main result before this i got Natinal institue of technology Megalya i left that beacuse of non permanent hostel facility and bad reviews from the seniors and the distance from mine hoemtown sikar(Rajasthan) even many good engineerig colleges was there in mine list but because of mine less marks in jee main and advance i am unable to get them (example : nit silchar, nit Wrangle, nit Trichy etc) but over all mine college was good according to Enviroment conditions and other parameters and the admission process was very smooth just you have to verify your documents ....Read More

As we all know that the B.Tech course is of four years and divided into eight semesters. It is offereed across 8 different specialisations including /cse, /ee, ECE, MEC, META, CIVIL, IT /cHE . The course admission is done on the basis of candidate's performance in JEE Main followed by JOSSA counselling/CSAB counselling. The allotment is donw on the basis of merit score in Je/e Main. The Eligibility Criteria is that the candiddate must qualify JEE Main and score above 75% marks in 12th.
