Remarks

The management of the college have done their part with excellence but a bit more freedom should be allowed to the students

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is up to date and the are having amole fund to set up modern labs as well as equipments for its practical knowledge. We have got timely funds from government in organising special seminars and workshops for better far of experiences.Around the course of 4 years we would have visited about 6 industries from manufacturing to application level. The campus placements are just ok as we won't find too many core electronics companies hiring and the knowledge from the course was spectacular.

Placement Experience

5

There were around 30-40 companies that visited for intership in our college. Most among them belong to the service sectors. The mains companies includes Infosys, tcs, spectrum, the nest and so on. The many criteria for the campus selection is based on the marks obtained and the number of arrears. The college has its own placement cell to organise the placement drives as well as it provides special courses for the drive and personality development classes too. About 60 percent of the students gets placed in the drive.

College Events

4

According to the events within the 4 years there would be a number of events hosted by college as a whole and department wise. There is an annual day for three days where the activites are held on all the topics of art and innovation along with an annual sports day. The linguistc festival are also celebrated in college. In electronics department special class were organised for the robotics section as well as the artificial intelligence section too. Then there sort to be inter college meets and University events too.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure is based on the government fees structure and it only varies in the NRI seats. Based on the facilities provided the fees structure is quiet feasible. The fees structure is 65000 per year. The mode of payment is direct payment at the college office only and there is no other additional charges

Fees and Financial Aid

There is no special scheme that the college have provided in terms of scholarship. There were other government scholarship available that could be achieved with college's cooperation. The average scholarships that was allocated was around 15- 20 thousand rupees. The criteria for this is mainly based on the marks they have secured in the higher secondary exams and others based on the marks they have achieved during the semester terms. There were special cell in the college which would provided scholarship on the tech-based projects and innovation that are presented by the students of the college.

Campus Life

The gender ratio is actually high in girls and half the boys. The college doesn't show much entertainment on the dorm or college parties. For the cultural society we did have a book as well as a nature club for the students to volunteer and constitute campaign as awareness. The have also made ample efforts in the extra curricular activites like a proper infrastructure for the games with also a gym provided inside the campus. Since this is a semi governmental organization we did have the student parties holding on and a college union to raise the voice of the students. They do have an active participation in the working of the college and the welfare of the students too.

Alumni/Alumna

The college have been established for more than around 10 years and the main backbone of it are it's alumini association. The are the main structure behind the organisation of the workshop and other events during the initial stages of the courses and later they would be the main parts on the placement drives and the processes after to it. Annually they will be a alumini meet where they would join together and have a discussion the college structure and its development .

Admission

College of Engineering Perumon is the second government college in kollam as per the ranking and it's a Cape owned college and comes under CUSAT. The admission process for the college is through the government entrance exam . After being in the merit list we would entrol for the course. Since technology is developing and its core structure is based on electronics design made me choose the electronic and communication branch in the year 2011 and graduated in the year 2015.

Faculty

4.5

There were around 15 lecturer teaching various parts in electronics. The permanent ones where holding a PG degree and each year the college would hire ad-hoc and guest lecturer to balance the teaching. The permanent lecturer would seek for more knowledge and courses as a part of the techquip process held in the college. Not ever lecturer were having industrial experience but we sort to have a handful of then with industrial experience too.

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are highly volatile taking the stats from over the past three years there has been an up trend as well a down trend, I hope I will get placed through on campus interviews, the highest package of this year was for two graduates who got into IBM with 22 lakhs per aanum, there are few who didn't get into any of the companies while there were others who got int Amazon and other reputated companies, if I do not get into a reputed company through my college on campus placements the. I'll be aiming for higher educations most probably

Course Curriculum Overview:

Biotechnology is a booming industry in the world. I had selected this course hoping to achieve a successful career here in India. Little did I know that biotechnology had not picked up its pace yet in India. The exams conducted was frequently with 1 or 2 model exams in each semester for theoretical and practical. This helped us to have enough basic knowledge when we finally pass out. It would be better if more internships and industrial visits are included in the syllabus. It would give a better idea about our future. It will also help us to boost our resume. The jobs in biotechnology offers low salary here but large varities of experience can be gained. This helps us to have a better career outside of India.
