Entrance Preview
I took CAT was the entrance exam I scored 99.25 percentile and got calls from B,L,I,K. I cleared all and accepted IIMB.It bordered on feasible during my time. In the recent years, I think the IIMs have steadily hiked their rates. They appear to be competing with private institutions and I'm not sure how many people they will end up losing as a result of this.
Internships Opportunities
General stipend offered varied from as low as 10 grand a month all the way to a couple of lakhs a month. My internship experience with a company owned by a PE firm was average.
Placement Experience
Excellent 100 percent batch placement since it was IIMB. The offers on campus were massive from I-Banks and several PE firms as well. A great financial start to careers of folks for whom big money was important. The exams were regular and the frequency high. However given the generally rigorous structure at a B-school I think it was a good practice to keep these things as regular as possible.
College Events
Cultural Once a year, all India fest Wonderful experience was open to alumni as well which made it exciting management Fest regular and allowed great industry interaction. I enjoyed a lot there can be cultural programmes. I have also participate so many times. It was great experience. I have been very happy to say that it is good institution.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It bordered on feasible during my time. In the recent years, I think the IIMs have steadily hiked their rates. They appear to be competing with private institutions and I'm not sure how many people they will end up losing as a result of this. I did not avail any loan. Several banks line up since it was IIM-B. Several folks availed of the offers and the payment needed to only be made later.
Fees and Financial Aid
I did not avail any loan. Several banks line up since it was IIM-B. Several folks availed of the offers and the payment needed to only be made later.
Campus Life
Campus life is amazing. Though as PGSEM participants, we were spending only 2 - 3 days at campus, and mainly for classes (6 - 7 hours). Due to off-campus stay, could not enjoy the campus life completely. Yet the time that was spent at campus was amazing. The campus ambiance is wonderful (very greed / tranquil environment). Extracurricular activities were very enjoyable, from the several fests, games etc. gender ratio in PGSEM is little skewed with about 10% - 90% female/male ratio.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities have been upgraded and I enjoyed year 2. Year 1 had a fair amount to be desired. The rooms were generally sufficient for 1 person. The mess food was slightly above average. Breakfast was my favorite meal. In so many colleges hostel was good but food was not good but in this institution the food was so good than the other institutions. I am happy for that my parents also happy.
Exam Structure
The exams were regular and the frequency high. However given the generally rigorous structure at a B-school I think it was a good practice to keep these things as regular as possible. The course curriculum was diverse including advance Finance, Advanced Corp Fin, Social Entrepreneurship, Brand Management to name a few. It was a great variety of courses on offer.
Faculty
Faculty are brilliant A lot of them have done quality research and the extent of independent thought is high. Also they frequently collaborate globally and in India with academia as well as industry and this helps provide a holistic approach to management education.
