Remarks

Management should improve. Staff's are quite irresponsible. Library facility isn't good. Infrastructure should be improved. Next year(2017),UVCE will celebrate its 100th year of birth. Hope the condition improve by then.

Entrance Preview

I took KCET has an entrance exam to get into this college. I preferred this college above all because of its fee structure.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I opted Electronics and Communication. EC branch is the strict branch in UVCE. Classes will run regularly as per time table. Our college encourages the students who do research. Laboratories are always open for students who do research. Alumnus Who work in the field of research visit the campus frequently and guide the students.

Internships Opportunities

Few of the third year students are doing internship for private companies. UVCE encourages students doing internship and research. As I'm studying in 2nd year, I don't know much about Internship.

Placement Experience

5

Our college is known for placements. Most of the well known companies visit the campus often. In the year 2015-16, the placement ratio(student : placed in number of companies) is 1:3. Around 100 companies visit every year. Four mass companies visit every year namely: Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant and Accenture.

College Events

4.5

Annually there will be 4 fest in UVCE. After few days of the beginning of the academic year, KAGADA (annual tech paper presentation event) takes place. Soon after KAGADA, INSPIRON fest which is organised by Placements team will be held. These two are the major fest in the first half of the year. IMPETUS,a fest organised by IEEE UVCE will be held in the month of April. FIESTA, the only cultural fest of UVCE will be the last major fest. ESPORTIVA, annual sport event will be held in February every year. All these fest will be organised by the students of UVCE. Along with these, some small events will be going on in and around the college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

UVCE is the only college under Bangalore University for Engineering stream. Since it comes under Government, fee is feasible. It is less than 30K for General merit students. Because of its fee structure, lot of Rural Talented students can be spotted.

Fees and Financial Aid

I'm a General merit student. I have heard that my friends from OBC background have received scholarships from E-pass. A alumni association called VISION UVCE recognises Talented students from rural background. They provide loan for students and help them.

Campus Life

2

Our college intakes students based on KCET. So, no question of management. North Indian students are found seldom. There will be frequent workshops organised by IEEE. UVCE IEEE has the largest student branch in Bangalore. Students will be engaged in projects often.

Hostel Facilities

2

The only degrades of UVCE is it's Infrastructure. I know many friends from UVCE hostel. I have also been to hostel for short times. The condition is really pathetic. One can't live there unless he has the strong heart. The rooms are not clean, dust everywhere. The hostel is not guarded, safety issues. Warden barely visit the hostel.

Alumni/Alumna

A alumni association called VISION UVCE recognises Talented students from rural background. They provide loan for students and help them. Here, students always depend on seniors for study materials and guidance. Seniors are friendly either.

Exam Structure

There will be 2 must attend internals for each semester. At times, an optional third internals will be held. Sem exams run under strict regulation. The labs are regular. Labs are well equipped and maintained good. Additionally, one must consider the fee structure. It is extremely low compared to other engineering colleges. We need to pay exam fees separately at the end of semester.

Faculty

3

EC department has 9 renowned professor. The professors are student friendly, they give notes and are strict in attendance. At the end of academic year one should maintain a compulsory 75%attendance. Orelse they back the year. Almost all professors are PHD holders.

Placement Experience:

lacements at MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology Placements at MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology are decent overall, with stronger outcomes for CS-related branches and moderate but reliable opportunities for core branches like Chemical Engineering. ???? Placement Eligibility Students generally become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester (final year). Some companies also allow pre-placement offers (PPOs) through internships after the 6th semester. ???? Companies Visiting the Campus ???? Common Recruiters (Across Branches) TCS Infosys Wipro Accenture Cognizant Capgemini IBM L&T Deloitte (limited roles) ???? Core / Chemical-Related Opportunities L&T Reliance (limited roles) Schneider Electric Saint-Gobain Some manufacturing, quality, and operations-based companies Core chemical companies visit in limited numbers, so many Chemical Engineering students also sit for IT, analytics, and operations roles. ???? Packages Offered (Approximate) ???? Salary Range Highest Package (overall): ~?40–50 LPA (off-campus / international offer, mostly CS) Highest for Core / Chemical roles: ~?8–10 LPA Average Package (overall): ?7–8 LPA Average for Chemical Engineering: ?4–6 LPA ???? Job Profiles Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) Process / Quality Engineer Analyst / Consultant Software Engineer (for interested students) ???? Placement Percentage Overall placement rate: ~90–95% Chemical Engineering: ~60–70% Students with good CGPA, internships, and skills tend to get placed earlier and in better roles. ???? Employability & Skill Development The college provides: Placement training sessions Aptitude and soft-skill workshops Coding and interview preparation support However, students are expected to upskill on their own, especially for core industry roles or higher-paying profiles. ???? My Plans After Completing the Degree After completing my B.E. in Chemical Engineering, I plan to: Gain industry experience through campus placement or off-campus opportunities

The highest on campus package this year was around 64 LPA, while as far as I know, the top 20% of the students usually get offers in the 16-24LPA range.
