Remarks

KIIT has a great learning experience. Apart from the course, it taught me a great deal about life and importance of career.

Entrance Preview

AIEEE, KIITEE. I scored an AIR 305 in KIITEE. I opted for this college because, KIIT University is one of the most established colleges in India.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is quite detailed with an option to select your electives in the final year. KIIT has a lot of options to grow as an individual and to be the one who can contribute to her/his skills to the world. To start with, you get an ample opportunity to learn and practically understand the subjects you choose for your studies. The facilities and faculties are really worth trying.

Internships Opportunities

There are decent number of companies which offer internship programmes. You need keep in touch with the training and placement cell from the start of 2nd year. If you belong to CS/IT branch, you have high chances of getting an internship offer from a software firm. You need to arrange for your internships either through formal contacts or by applying to the firms when they are ready to intake for the internships.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placement opportunities are decent(good for CSE/IT). Although, core companies come in very small number, so more likely than not people from core branches end up in mass IT companies like Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, Cognizant, Accenture etc. It is better than the placement scenario at many other comparative private engineering colleges.

College Events

5

very other day, some kind of event is happening at KIIT. Good speakers and known luminaries come to visit the college for these events. The KIIT fest held every year is a huge platform for students to interact with other students from as many as 20 national colleges. KIIT Model United Nations is also conducted every year. The events are a great platform to showcase your talent.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees at KIIT are little on the higher side. Kiit provides a solid base to structure yourself. If you’re good at studies,extra-curricular or any other thing then it can provide you in numerous opportunities to justify the fees. The infrastructure, the resources and the faculty make up for the expensive fees. However if there is a cash crunch from your end, you have the option of contacting Shri. Achyuta Samanta, the founder-director of KIIT University to help you in this regard. He has helped multiple other people earlier.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes. There is a facility of scholarship to semester topper. Loan facility can be availed with partner banks like State Bank of India etc.

Campus Life

5

Campus life at KIIT is amazing. It is always beaming with life. There is much needed diversity around you. The infrastructure, placements and academic life is good given you to have an inclination towards your career. There are multiple clubs and committees engaging the student life.

Hostel Facilities

5

The hostel infrastructure is quite good and mess food has a balanced diet for people from all regions Each hostel is provided with a fully air-conditioned study rooms which can be a boon in summers as the Bhubaneshwar heat can prove unbearable at times. Each floor has got adequate bathrooms for the students and are regularly cleaned. CCTV's are installed in each of the hostels.

Alumni/Alumna

KIIT has a vast alumni network and is well maintained. They are very helpful in case you need any professional help anywhere down the line.

Exam Structure

The structure of BTech at KIIT University is semester wise. 8 semesters in total with each semester having a mid semester also. The entire process is quite chilled out and students generally find enough time to prepare and score good grades in the examination. The questions are not that difficult and past papers help in preparation.

Faculty

4

The faculty pool consists of experienced professors as well as fresh post graduates generally from IITs or other reputed colleges. So, on paper the faculty is as good as it can get. The flip side here, though, is your capability to extract knowledge out of them. Because frankly speaking, in stark contrast to the quality of the faculty members, the quality of students being admitted has degraded.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The technical background and future influenced me to choose this course. The preparation for real-world applications or further academic pursuits are average. Theres no fair improvement needed in the course curriculum and teaching methods. The frequency of the exams are 2 sem exams and 4 quiz in class exams. The timings for sem exams are 3 hours while for quiz tests its 30 minutes. The difficulty level is average of all the exams

Placement Experience:

Placement record is not so good.. companies like Microsoft and Google have blacklisted KIIT due to poor performance and mismanagement by the KIIT in providing with the right candidates. KIIT shortlists students in basis of multiple tests taken on platforms like AMCAT and on that basics provides the profiles of best performing candidates to the companies invited for campus hirings regardless of the field and job specifications and requirements, so basically KIIT has a very below average performance Training and Placement Cell as they lack decision making and management skills to segregate candidates for hirings according to their skills and not by their general scores and CGPA. NOTE: Companies have shown least interest in KIIT for last 2 years and the poor performance of previous batches and mismanagement by KIIT authorities. KIIT promises 100% placements but that is actually far from reality.
