Remarks
It is the best physiotherapy college in the state. The infrastructure of the department isn't updated but the teacher - students' relations, senior-junior camaraderie as well as the sheer number of patients in the department is what helps in upskilling and important social and communication skills. Also, because top scorers prefer this college their company gives an environment of healthy competition and constant learning which is necessary in a field as dynamic as Physiotherapy.
Course Curriculum Overview
The college syllabus is quite good and in lines with the university syllabus provided. Enough demonstrations and practicals were conducted for ample practice. Exposure in terms of clinical practice is well and good as compared to other colleges owing to the sheer number of patients in the OPD and otherwise. Do not expect much of administration skills from the Physiotherapy dept but they are too good in terms of concept-building and teaching so that more than compensates the flaws. The faculties strive to keep the session interactive making sure every student is participating in the discussions or symposiums.
Placement Experience
Physiotherapists are required in every field of medicine now. The alumni networking is way too deep and the senior-junior camaraderie helps a lot in networking. An example of a startup by ex-students is PhysioConcepts Education ltd. Clinics and field specialists are seeked upon and in demand. However, it all depends on the student's calibre too just like in other careers
College Events
The college conducts a cultural 4-day fest named Aavishkaar. Sports seasons do occur named as Excelsior and Physiotherapy Cricket League. Students volunteer to teach in underprivileged areas with ties with associations like Vector org. Seminars and educational sessions keep happening day-round. The student community is very active on Instagram with a lot of projects and extra-curricular activities going around to be involved in.
Campus Life
The main college is a heritage structure. The physiotherapy dept in particular has recently been renovated. Library is huge and umpteen of books and quite big reading rooms with AC and WiFi facilities. Laboratories are up to the mark and active Badminton court, TT and carrom games as well as presence of a turf.
