Remarks
College was not my choice it was my father's since he could afford to send me here. My choice was computer science since this is the only course that has interested me since school. It really doesn't matter to me since I'll be doing MBA after graduation. I feel it's just a waste of money. And mostly I hate my college since it is so academics oriented that the extra curricular activities are just for show and GENDER EQUALITY here is FALSE.
Course Curriculum Overview
Syllabus is not entirely modern, for eg. For CSE students when physics is mandatory for Freshers it should have computer lab components instead of physical lab components. The curriculum in VIT is extremely hectic. The faculties here are similar like I'm any college except the ones hear are more narrow minded and a few have actually asked boys to sit somewhere else if they happen to be sitting with a girl(because I presume it's south India so people here may not be very comfortable at the sight of opposite genders sitting so close)
Placement Experience
The placements are very competitive and the job opportunities are genuinely great. VIT is visited by the best of the best companies like Amazon Google and what all not.
College Events
The cultural management is okayish since selected cultural days are considered holidays and rest are just celebrated in college timings given you are free from academics schedule at that moment to celebrate it. However, students mange their best and participation is always a 100!
Campus Life
Sports facilities are below par and timings are ridiculous as different timings for boys and girls, hence, hard to keep up with sports timings and academic timings). WiFi is 4mbps(proclaimed speed) and 50 GB of data a month ( that consumes 10 GB in uploading a month and none of us have been able to figure it out till now). Library is massive and extremely good(one of the legit true fact proclaimed by management). The equipments in the labs are great too. In other words Infrastructure is great for academics only.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel infrastructure is great is good in terms of cleaning services, mess, inhostel canteen. Room fees are: For non ac- 4 bed - 45k, 3 bed-50k, 2 bed-60k For ac- almost twice of non AC Room size is approax 200 sq. Feet for both 3 and 4 bed and 100 sq.feet for 2 bed. I paid 80k for 4 bed ac the first year. That's 6k+ a month for 50 sq.feet of space(RIDICULOUSLY OVER PRICED)
