As a former EEE student at BITS Goa, I would not recommend taking up EEE at BITS Hyderabad if you want a career in the field of software engineering. Here are the reasons why- The coding involved in EEE is not enough. You’ll code in MATLAB, which is rarely used in the IT sector. You’ll have to devote extra time to learning Python, Java, and other languages. CS involves much more than coding, all of which you’ll miss out on. Elective courses like OS, DSA, Comp Arch have very limited seats, and not everyone gets to pick them. Also, you’ll get these courses by your third or fourth year. By then you’ll either be under too much pressure to complete your main syllabus or it’ll be too late because the placement season will have begun. Top IT companies don’t open for non CS candidates, and even for the companies that do, you’ll have to compete with CS students. BITS will give you all the necessary exposure, quality education and opportunities. However, as a non IT student you’ll still find difficulty in getting an IT job via campus placements. Based on all these points, I would recommend choosing CSE at VIT for better job prospects in the IT sector.

Between an M.Sc chemistry in BITS Hyderabad and CSE in VIT, which is better?

Based on mine and my friends’ experiences, here are some points I would like for you to consider in this regard- The branch should always be your top priority. For a dual degree in CSE at BITS Hyderabad, you’ll need to score more than 7.6 CG. That would mean an average +30 in most subjects (relative grading). Phoenix Dual is a better option than VIT CSE. Dual degree will take away a lot from your campus life. You won’t be able to enjoy clubs and events to the fullest. BITS Hyderabad undoubtedly has a better crowd quality. Moreover, it carries the prestigious ‘BITS’ tag. BITS will give you a more quality campus experience with better academics. The decision has to be made by you, but I hope that these points will guide you. Whatever you choose, make sure to maintain a good academic performance in college, so that you end up getting decent job offers.

Which is better VIT or NIT Raipur for CSE?

According to a senior of mine who has graduated from NIT Raipur, the institute is better than most top colleges in Bangalore including VIT institutes. Despite having a soft spot for NIT Raipur, she does not discourage candidates from trying their luck at any other university, including VITs. She, however, suggests that they should get acquainted for measuring progress after completion of the undergraduate degree. Campus: VIT campus is definitely better than the NIT Raipur campus. Although the NIT Raipur has been considerably renovated. The VIT campus will cost around 2 lakhs per year which includes hostel fees as well. Education at NIT Raipur will cost around 0.5 lakhs. Course: The course of VIT will not have any effect on your CSE placement. On the other hand, your coding skills and DS+Algo will have a part to play in your placement. Either way, the effort is required regardless of how much you pay. Placements: By the time you graduate, if you choose NIT Raipur, that is, the institute will pretty much be holding its own among other giants. My senior said two of her batchmates landed a 75 LPA package without paying hefty college fees. VIT, being a private college, is known to boost their placement records. In addition to that, they have a management quota as well which goes on to say that not all the best minds will be found there. A friend of my seniors had a good rank and went to VIT. He got chosen in three companies. VIT attracts employers in large numbers but they offer packages of only around 3-3.5 LPA. In the case of NIT Raipur, almost every candidate will get at least one job, in recent years many also bagged two jobs. The ones who have, get a package of 4-8 LPA for the first job, and a package of as much as 16-17 LPA for the second job. Candidates who do not get a second job also land a job with a package of 4-8 LPA. Overall, it is safe to say that CSE from NIT Raipur will be a good option.

Personally, I feel VIT Vellore is a much better option than DSCE. Except for its location, VIT Vellore has an upper hand in almost all aspects be it infrastructure or placements. However, if you are not getting a branch of your choice at VIT Vellore or you are getting a less preferred branch, then DSCE can be considered. But if you are getting CS, ISE, ECE, and EEE at VIT Vellore then it should be given a preference to DSCE. Considering specific parameters Quality of education: Both institutes have equally good academic environments and highly qualified teachers. Infrastructure: VIT Vellore definitely scores better here because of its huge campus and facilities that are way ahead that DSCE. Don’t get me wrong, DSCE is one of the best in Bangalore but its size is nowhere near VIT Vellore. Placements: DSCE has 100% placements for CSE but average placements for core branches. VIT Vellore again scores better here. Overall, VIT Vellore seems a more promising choice than DSCE although the difference seems to be very slight.

What should be my decision to join if I have 2 opportunities, VIT Chennai ECE or Amrita Bangalore CSE groups?

The points below give a brief overview of both the choices: In CSE, there are excellent package offers in institutes like Amrita and VIT, thus increasing your chance of getting a good salary at the beginning of your career. ECE is a stream of a kind, which has its own charm. In ECE, students grow slowly with time and earn decent salaries, provided they are passionate about the field of work. ECE in VIT Chennai is a great department, having a world-class infrastructure. The curriculum is at par with the industry needs. The professors at VIT Chennai are connected to the industry and other academic institutes to aid in research. All major electronics companies visit the campus of VIT Chennai for placement. Almost 20% of the students in the department get a package above 10 LPA in general from companies like Samsung, TI, Nutanix, etc. A major percentage of about 70-80% of students in ECE at VIT Chennai get a package between 5-8 LPA. Companies like Cisco, Intel, Wipro VLSI, Arista Networks offer salaries in this range. There are also some non-tech companies like Deloitte, E&Y, Bank of America, PWC, Wells Fargo, etc that recruit students from ECE. In VIT Chennai, there are very few students who opt for job offers in service-based companies like TCS, Accenture, Infosys, CTS, etc. Therefore, both ECE at VIT Chennai and CSE at Amrita Bangalore are good options. It is the choice of the student as to what excites him/her the most and opts for a degree in the same.

We pay 1.5 lakh for fee yearly,and after addition all expense going to 3.5 lakh annually.for different category this fee varies it's starting from 2 to 5 lakh. Only one scholarship after college entrance exam is applied.

give viteee give fees 3-4k then course registration or slot fees 7k not refundable choose the priority of the course and give course fees after you have alloted a course that will be refundable until a certain date or a certain amount will be taken there are 5 categories cat1-cat5 1 being the lowest and 5 being the heighest mostly students cat2,3,4 student are there fees are incresing cat2 is 300000 and 3 is cat3 is 400000 and cat 4 is 450000 per year depending on th course myself computer science btech 4 year core program scholarship you can get but very less people get it so leave that thought rest same for all the course fees also depend on others courses mess fees is 70k to 100k hostel is ac and non ac ac has extra nearly 50000 per person on the room than non ac this is a private college so there is no reservation

From @nd semester since we have the liberty of choosing the timetable and classes, you will have to switch to different classes for every period

The Vellore Institute of college admission fees mainly depend upon your Vit rank which you will get through your vit entrance test.According to the course you choose you have fee structures . Computer science core is really competitive , thus you need to secure a very good rank to get into the 1st fee structure. The 1st fee structure for the course isin and around 2 lakhs per annum. And fee structure is about 3LPA . The 3rd and 4th fee structure increase consecutively by 50,000 per annum.This arrangement is only for the Bachelors degree. If you would like to opt for Mtech integrated course , then the fee in a particular fee structure would change. YOu can also get admission through Management quota but the amout of money you pay as fees would be relatively huge. The hostel fees in Vit largely depend on the room you choose( AC or Non AC) and the type of bedroom(6bed, 4bed, 3bed, 2bed) and the type of mess you choose( Veg, Non veg, Special, Food park).

I feel the study load is more and college life is hectic
In the first ffcs the first preference was given to dayboarders which is not fair

The total hostel fee I paid was 1,73,000 since I chose 3bed non AC room and veg mess.This includes admission fees of 15000(non refundable) and caution deposit of 15000(refundable when we leave).This need not be paid next year.The hostel fee varies according to the mess and roomtype we choose.For veg mess it is 78800,for nonveg mess it is 87900 and for special mess it is 97700.any one of this can be choosed by us.The total tuition fee I paid was 198000 since I came through first category through viteee.The tuition fee is divided into 5 categories.
