VIT Chennai Scholarships are granted to the top 1000 rank holders in VITEEE entrance exam under the GV School Development Program (GVSDP). VIT Chennai believes in offering monetary assistance to meritorious and deserving students. The following table shows the percentage of fee waivers given by VIT Chennai as per the rank acquired by a candidate:

Likes

Good teaching , supportive faculties , happy environment
Lot of extra circular to find your passion, lots of competition will be organised

Maybe hostels need to build more hostels with good interior design

So the fees here are quite low as compared to other colleges for a law degree every year it costs me rs190000, during the first year I paid Rs.192000 as 2000 is a caution deposit and there are no any other fees to pay my batch mates also paid the same, scholarship you can avail if you have got state rank in 12th or the entrance exam or district 1st so it depends and there are other ways to get scholarship according to your family income once you enter college u will be provided with that details,

Likes

Cultural clubs and social clubs are most interesting to participate and socialize with others
Faculties are helping and if you are good in studies definitely they are going to help you alot.

Dislikes

75% attendance policy is not good. They consider you on leave only when you are admitted to hospital, otherwise you are marked absent.
Exams and quizzes are conducted frequently. So many assignments are given every week.

Fees and Financial Aid:

There is no scholarship. Fee structure is based on category. There are five categories. Category 1 has lowest fee and fee increases with increasing category. Categories are given based on your VITEEE exam rank.

Strictness that hepls in character building.
FFCS where we can choose subjects and teachers by ourself

Dislikes

extra Charges for everything if u get backlog or extra course u need to pay 6000
too much load and very less holiday..and restrictions on going out side u need approval from parents on college portal

it can range from 2lakh rupees to 5lakh rupees per year just for the college repending on your rank.... hostel fee is another 2lakh rupees which includes mess fee..this is for my course may vary course tl course.

The gender ratio here is good. .its like 70 students
70 students in a class out of which 40 will be boys

Dislikes

The crowd in vit is so much so it is a bit irritating
We have to wait for lift for like 10 mins

The fees year is affordable for some and expensive fir others the fee for category 1 is 200000 and the fees for category 2 is 300000 and for category 3. Is 400000 and for category 4 is 450000 and category 5 is 500000

Fees and Financial Aid:

Well I actually pay 7 lakhs per annum and it really depends on how much you score on their viteee examination and based on that u get placed on certain categories and what not . There is not "scholarship " as such , but you get to pay lesser amount if your based on category 1 and increasing gradually till you finally reach the 5th category.And obviously the price ranges differently based on the course you're opting for , for example if you're a category 1 for cse core , you would pay 3 lakh per annum but if it's for the course of ece in the same category you will be paying 1lakh or so .

So basically our college provide scholarship to those who come under top 10 rank for the entrence exam basically can choose our branch acc to our rank for the fee we have categories 1st category it's 2lskh for second it's 3 lakh for 3rd it's 4 lakh for 4th it's 4.5 lakh for 5th it's 5 lakh

Infrastructure is good. Good for sportss
Have flexible timetable. Values time for everyone

Dislikes

Faculty is not always that good as expected for such a good college
Overpriced food in canteen and unhygenic at times

159000 this year for category 2 which is very affordable for the engineering market these days.hostel fees and everything for me added up to around 4 lakh. Again it depends on the no of bed and ac or non ac type .. i got 6 bed

They offer us flexible slot choosing. You can choose your own class timings
They have credit systems where each course has a credits and are to completed at the end of the course

Dislikes

Have strict dress code for girls. Can’t wear sleeveless and dresses above your ankles
You gotta walk a lot in the campus from hostel to other buildings

Fees and Financial Aid:

It's an intergrated course for 5 years.Your category is based on 12th marks . 1st category is 1 lakh. 2nd category is around 1.5lakh and so there are till 3rd category. Caution deposit was around 15 thousand. There aren't any scholarships available for this course. And there aren't any fee paid during the course other than the one mentioned before

My experience at VIT University Chennai

Likes

The moot court society and the placement cell has seen an improvement from when I joined. There are better placement opportunities and a lot of moot courts that encourage us to participate. The debate society is also very active.
The college has a good infrastructure. All law classrooms are air conditioned. All basic amenities are also available within the campus like shops, salons, etc.

Dislikes

Engagement in college life and fests could be better. Engineering students have a much better social life and more activities. However comparatively fests and college social life could be better.
There exists very good and approachable faculties but at the same time there comes up a shortage of faculties which is often filled up by research scholars who are not well versed with the subjects and creates a lack in the teaching quality.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The yearly fees for us is 1,62,000. However there was an additional caution fee of 2000 to be paid in the first year. This would however be refunded later on. However scholarship fee reductions are made available to certain students. Management quota also exists as per my knowledge at a higher amount of fees.

the campus is huge and green and beautiful
the opportunities are NUMEROUS and you can explore tons of options

Dislikes

mess food is not the best altho edible, options are there
the favulty is not very good, especially for freshers

The course is great, its basically cse minus 4 credits which you can add via external means. the fees is okay for me as i got into the first category, i didnt apply for many scholarship altho there are numerous internship opportunities here

Yes, there are scholarships available for VITEEE candidates. The candidates who have meritorious ranked scored in the VITEEE will be awarded with the GV School Development Programme Scholarship. The scholarship is provided to the 570 students every year including 113 females and 457 males.
