I am paying 173000 per year for as my tuition fee ,and 213000 as my hostel fees , 15000 is caution fee, 15000 is registration fee . I am in 1st category so I am paying 173000 for tuition fee but my other batchmates who are in 2nd or 3rd category they are paying more than me .

My insights on Vit Chennai

Fees and Financial Aid:

Admission here is purely merit based. Depending on our performance in the VITEEE entrance exam each one of us will be allocated a rank and counseling date. I acquired a rank of 32986 and got phase 2 counselling. I wanted mechanical engineering with specialization in AI and ML and I got it in category 1 in Chennai campus. The fees structure per year for category 1 students are 195000. In the 1st year alone and extra amount of 3000 must be paid. Depending on the demand of the course and the phase of counselling the category depends. For example a person with the same rank as mine would get only cat 4 or 5 in cs departments. There are also 4 campuses Vellore,Chennai, Bhopal,AP. Vellore is the one usually in demand and people with rank less than 20000 i.e phase 1 counselling will get in with less fees. My friends currently studying data science got seat under category 5 with a rank of 25k in Chennai campus and EEE in category 2 and 3. They have splited all courses into 2- A and B. A- Civil, Fashion,EEE etc B-Mechanical,all CS departments,ECE,IT etc A- category 1- 173000 per year B-category 2- 195000 per year.

The course fees is based on the category which the student got. Category depends on the rank of student in VITEEE and the demand of course. Totally there are 5 Categories, with least being 1 and higest being 5. I got Category 1 which has a fees of 200000 per annum, my rank being 6620. There are no management seats.

The yearly fees would be based on the category in which the candidate is selected during the counselling based on the VITEEE ranks, the fee i'm paying for category is 2lakhs, there will be no reservation or relaxation based on categories the candidate may belong, the admission fee and caution deposit would be around like 25k, the fee of my batchmates are like 1lakh, 1.5lakh and 2lakhs. There may be scholarships provided for top performers in the entrance exam, but I'm unaware of it.

Vit is genuinely a very good college but it needs to inprove a little bit in terms of strictness freedom etc snd rules s

the college offers various courses like cse cse with spec mechanical eng eee etc.fees are based on categories and categories are based on ranks so personally im 4th category and im paying a tuition fee of 4,50,000 per year and the tuition fee prices as per me have not increased they have been always the same.i know a lot of batchmates who are either category 5,4,3,2,1 they are paying different fees.category 1 fee is 2,00,000 category 2 is 2,50,000 category 3 is 4,00,000 category 4 is 4,50,000 and category 5 is 5,00,000.

Yes, there are scholarships available for VITEEE candidates. The candidates who have meritorious ranked scored in the VITEEE will be awarded with the GV School Development Programme Scholarship. The scholarship is provided to the 570 students every year including 113 females and 457 males.
