Likes

There are ample of opportunities such as clubs , events to showcase our talents
for courses like B.com and BBA, students can choose professional courses such as ACCA and US CMA
The college provides excellent placement and training and the average package is around 3-4 lpa

Dislikes

Highly competitive, the specialization offer in vit chennai for bcom and bba is less
although VIT has good infrastructure, there have been complaints about availability of resources like lab as it could not accomodate high strength

Admission:

I applied colleges such as SRM, MCC and the reason for choosing this college is brand reputation, their curriculum and other extracurricular activities. the admission process is simple 60 percentage above in 10th and 12th and personal interview with faculty (it mostly includes general questions)

Is VIT worth it

Likes

Boys to girls ratio is very good in every branch
Quality of study is excellent compared to other universities
Students come from different parts of the country

Dislikes

The rules are very strict and there are cameras everywhere
The in time for boys and girls is very less
You need permission of proctor for every outing or leave

Admission:

From th start of the 12th class I wanted IIT and my second option was VIT over NITs because it has very good facilities. I didn't get good marks in my JEE advance so I choose VIT. The admission process in VIT is simple after exam you get your rank based on that you get scholarship and branch after that you need to pay fees to confirm your seat.

Likes

I liked the college curriculum as it starts its course on time and ends on time that's the major thing I liked
I liked the campus view , it's infrastructure, view of sky are so mesmerizing .
I liked cleanliness, security, hospitality all are so good.

Dislikes

I don't liked the food here as I am north indian.so..
I don't like the language barrier, as they don't want to understand either hindi or english also onlo tamil..
I don't like restrictions on girls , they do so many..

My insights on Vit Chennai

Likes

Infrastructure - the campus is huge (192 acres). It's well maintained. Every corner there is a canteen. We also have bank, supermarket, clinics etc.extracurricular wise there is basketball court,2 grounds, cricket pitch.sports room well maintained.
Thee are almost 50plus clubs for both academic and extracurricular purposes. For example I am in AUTOVIT club that does all works related to automation and robotics. I am also part of SEDS,a space club. Variety of events are organised almost everyday
People here come from different backgrounds and we get to meet a lot of different kinds of people everyday.for example I met this girl from Bihar and she even made me learn Hindi. This university celebrates everyone with different cultures.

Dislikes

Unhygienic maintenance of some canteens. We can see monkeys everywhere using all thoose cups etc. or lizards in water tank.not all places but few need to be maintained properly
Almost all Saturdays it's a working day in the name of compensation of classes. We also have exams during sunday if our slot falls on that day. they also sometimes keep exams on afternoon making it very difficult for day scholars.
Despite normal bus during morning and evening there is one in the afternoon.only limited bus with certain routed are provided. The crowd during that time while catching the bus is soo much.

Admission:

I applied for very less college.since my cut off was low the possibility of me getting any Anna university affiliated colleges were less. So i wrote entrance exam for Amrita University and Vit. I did get Amrita but felt Vit had better exposure. They were lot of reasons as to why I chose this college. Of most the colleges I searched this had mechanical with specialisation courses. Doing a minor in something will make me a step ahead of every other mechanical engineer. I also compared the curriculum with many institutions,this was far by the best with perfect exposure. They have variety of other non graded courses to help me focus on my hobbies and interest. Their tie ups with many foreign institutions and industries will be an advantage for me if I use it in the right way. Again the only way of getting into Vit is through their entrance exam VITEEE. Since my cut off was low I had to rely on these entrance exams. Based on the rank obtained in the entrance we will be allocated a counselling phase and through that we can choose our respective course.

VIT- Melting Point of India

Likes

I liked that college has students from all over India.
We get a lot of exposure, VIT is also a melting pot. You can learn a lot about other cultures
The college has great placements for every branch

Dislikes

The population is so high and hence sometimes it becomes irritating.
Hostel rules are strict especially for girls.
We have exams somewhat every month or the other

Admission:

I applied to Amrita, NIT TRICHY,SRM. I got confirmed admission in all of them with NITT alone not getting desired branch. I got core branches in NITT, so I didn't go there. The admission process of the college is to take their yearly entrance examination VITEEE. As I got 6620 rank I got seat in first phase of counselling itself.That's why I chose VIT. VIT is one of the most respected private institute in India. It has great research facilities. The admission process is smooth and VIT only accepts their entrance examination

Likes

I liked the diversity here, students from all across the world study here.
I like the clubs and other activites that happen along with the academics.
I like the fests here, it is a lot better than the fests of other colleges

Dislikes

I dislike the mess food may not be that great.
The hostel fee seems to be a bit high here
The fee here is a lot for lower categories

Admission:

The other colleges i applied were Shiv Nadar University, SRM University and Amrita University. I chose this college over the others becuase I thought this is a better choice than the others, this college seems to satisfy my needs and is also a reputed University

i applied for few colleges like manipal dtu nsut vit but i chose vit because vit is very well known for its academics and my dream was to always go to a well know college which i feel i have accomplished.i did get rejections from few colleges but im not regrettinbg it.the admission process of my college is through viteee exam and as per the ranks we get a seat in four different campuses of vit.

The True qualities of vit chennai university

Likes

The campus is good,spacious and has big playing grounds and respective sports grounds
The faculties are friendly and provide good knowledge
There are seperate clubs doing seperate events all over the campus making social interactions easy on a daily basis

Dislikes

Regarding hostel the food can be a bit more good
The marking system is a bit more complicated and difficult in certain ways

Admission:

I did applied for some colleges other than this like sairam institute of technology and after i got accepted to vit I went here and abondoned the application. The eligibility for my course is higher education marks like 12th board exams and cbse board exams. A score more than 75% in pcm is needed to apply for the course.The eligibility for b.tech is entrance examination conducted by the college.

Likes

It is pretty transparent here, everything is followed in a very systematic order
I Also liked the system of fully flexible credit system, which allows the student to choose the timetable flexibly if he manages score well
Many events occur each and every day based on all the cultures across India

Dislikes

There is nothing much, I dislike, but there is this one thing that even after being an engineering student, you still need permission from your parents or your Proctor to go out of the campus

Admission:

of course, like everyone, I wrote JEE mains unsecured person, but still couldn't get a good college since I am general category. keeping that aside, I had also applied for dayanada sagar university and SRM University and also had given KCET. I chose this college because A few of my known seniors had studied here and also looking back at the records of this college. It has been proved it's excellence. if it's in terms of placement records, or college life, or infrastructure, this college was better than any other that I applied for, making it my ultimate reason to choose this college.

Likes

Cleanliness of the campus is well maintained.
Every student is given the freedom to change their time slots flexibly for every semester.
The labs are well maintained and the staffs are well experienced.

Dislikes

The campus seems a bit small than the other colleges at this level.
The food stalls are a bit expensive to spend cash on.
College is located at a far location from the main district.

Admission:

VIT Chennai was a easy pick due to its strong reputation in engineering, and infrastructures. The idea of AI and robotics seemed excited. Our college is known to be great in cultural fests and other extracurricular activities. Everyone must take on VITEEE exam in order to enter the campus, then the results decide their ranks, and their ranks decide their courses and fee structures. VITEEE consists of Math, Physics, Chemistry, Aptitude, English type of questions. Every student must have atleast 75% or above in their 12th boards for entry. I got selected for Shiv Nadar University but then i got rejected in the interview stage of the selection, thus I have decided to stick to VIT.
