Remarks

All of us know VIT for its flagship program which is B. Tech but its MBA program is too good as well. I gave the CAT exam and secured 85 percentile which helped me in taking admission at VIT. NAAC accredited the university Grade A and it is ranked 51-75 for MBA/PGDM by NIRF in 2020. Another thing is the cost of study which is far less compared to other B schools. The admission form can be filled both online and offline with some charges.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Various programs are available for UG, PG and PhD levels at VIT. In MBA you get to choose between Finance, Marketing, Human Resources and Operation System. I chose Marketing as I always had interest in sales. The professors in our department are highly experienced with vast practical knowledge which makes the learning holistic. Case study method, lecturing and discussions are used for teaching. The exams are taken timely and the questions are moderate.

Internships Opportunities

5

When we complete our first semester exams the Summer Internship program gets started. Many companies come for internship and the stipend varies according to your domain and the company you are working with. I had a 8 weeks internship with TATA and I was working in their marketing department. I got 25000 rupees as stipend.

Placement Experience

4.5

Every year reputed companies come for recruitment and the final year students in our program sit for placements. The average students who get recruited are around 90%. Companies like Microsoft, IBM, Wipro, Flipkart, Accenture, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank come for placements. The highest package in our batch was 19 LPA while the average stood to be around 7.5 LPA. Students generally get recruited in domains like Marketing and HR.

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost of study at VIT for the MBA program is very low compared to other B schools. The two year MBA costs around 7.03 Lakh rupees which mean 3.51 Lakh rupees annually approximately. Financial assistance is provided to the economically weak and the meritorious students get some concession on their tuition fees. Otherwise you can opt for student loan at any banks at moderate interest rates.

Campus Life

5

VIT will give you some moments to cherish in your future life. We have all the modern technologies from our classroom to library. The library will be enough as you would get all the required books there. The annual cultural and sports fest is organized in the form of Riviera. Biometric attendance is compulsory in classes and hostels everywhere. Everything is provided within the lush green campus and the events running throughout the year makes our life lively.

Hostel Facilities

5

During the admission procedure in the college you have to do the registration for hostels. You can choose between AC and Non/AC rooms. There is facility for single bed rooms and you can choose up to 6 bed rooms and the rates vary according to that. All the basic amenities are provided in the hostel and the mess food is also good. The food is served four times daily with a Sunday Special menu. The mess maintains a good quality food with proper hygiene.

Admission

The students who got selected through their CAT, MAT or XAT scores were sent an e-mail regarding the PI. I gave the PI which ran for 15-20 minutes. Basic questions were asked based on my past academics, my personal life, current affairs, reasons for choosing this program etc.

Remarks:

To get admission in the MBA course, I was required to fill the online application form available on the official college website and pay Rs.500 along with it. After the submission of the filled-in application to the admission officer, a written aptitude test was conducted followed by an interview session. My KMAT scores were also considered during admission. I wanted to take admission here because my sister also graduated from here. Also, it ranked 36 among the best B-Schools across India by Business Today and ranked 1st overall at the State Level and 19th at All India Level by Education World.

Time management is one real asset that I developed in these three months. Joining BIM has given me with an opportunity to meet people with varied backgrounds, get a good network of intellectual people and give a chance to learn Tamil. Much software that I learnt for problem solving has given me an edge over any other MBA graduate of first year in the country.
