Remarks
This is an autonomous Govt university, with years of reputation. The faculty is well qualified, actually in par with those of National Law Schools. And the library is quite suitable for my civil service preparations also. There are a lot of opportunities awaiting here.
Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum is time consuming when you approach in a serious manner. The faculty is well qualified. There are talks and lecture series held by the School of Legal Studies as well as Cochin University. Moot court competitions are there for aspiring lawyers, provided you make the best use of it all.
Placement Experience
There is no placement cell at all in the School of Legal Studies. So if you're looking for corporate placements then SLS is not a good option. It is a best destination for preparation of those looking for career options in government departments.
College Events
There is the Sargam Arts fest which taps the cultural literary and scholastic penchants of the students. Kurukshetra Sports Meet and the various department sports fests(like Mudra of SLS) brings out the old sportsmen in many by calling for their love for games. Opportunities are plenty and abounding in Cusat and in the various departments also.
Campus Life
Infrastructure is not up to the mark. Probably the fees which is much less compared to that of National Law Schools where amenities are better is the reason. Library is really fulfilling, in the true meaning of the word, both the department library and the university library.
Hostel Facilities
I am a day scholar. But from what I have seen, hostel facilities are poor. The food at the ladies hostel is not satisfactory. And there is also a need for better bathrooms. And the rooms in general also demand less of congestion and more of hygiene.
