Debosmita Roy's Review On Lovely Professional University - [LPU], Jalandhar

Genuinely lpu was my last option to get an admission. When I searched about lpu in google, I was amazed to see the whole beautiful surrounding of Lpu. I decided to come here and got admitted. I chose Agriculture as my carrier building division. As Lpu recently had been accredited by ICAR (The Indian Council of Agricultural Reseach), that was the main reason why I selected this University. As 70% Indian population is still dependent on Agriculture, I thought this subject will give me plenty of job opportunities and scopes for what I want to become in future !!

I think Agriculture is a vast course with lots of subjects, syllabus and units in every year ( total 4 years program ) as per Icar syllabus and guidelines. You have to be meritorious enough, hardworking, and concerntrated towards your studies not only just for passing the exams but also securing good marks in each exam. You will get lots of assignments, projects, fieldwork, laboratory works, making pdf, presentations and all but surely it will make you confideng enough to become a succesful individual. I was provided enough industrial exposure for my respected stream. Oftenly, "School of Agriculture" in Lpu conduct some seminars, panel discussions, webinars in the favour of Agriculture students to get lot of informations and perspectives about their stream. Like, in agriculture student's association also have 3-4 groups such as. OASIS, AGRICON, AGRINIANS who conduct lots of programs about Agricultute. Faculties are nice. They are much friendly in nature and behaviour. They put their 100% to teach us and make the whole class a success. They are so hardworking that they even share their ppts that they make so nicely and trust me those help me a lot. Maninder Singh, Dr. Sharad Sachan,Dr. Vijay Kumar, Dr. Nidhi Dubey, Dr Adesh Kumar, Johnson and many more are the Agriculture Professors whom I really admire.

Companies those visit lpu everyyear are Wipro, Amazon, Tata consultancy, Flipcart and several reputed icar recognized companies for agriculture, campus placement drives, Other companies like Monsanto, Intello, Reliance, ITC recently visited this university. Lpu ranked # 65 by 2019 and ranked 5 th all over India for placement drives. Recently a MSC student from agriculture department has been credited 1 crore package and placed succesfully, also a senior student from very previous batch got 1 crore package from agriculture and went to Canada for her job. So, Agriculture has a lot of opportunities to get placed successfully. Every year around 500+ students get job placements. I have no idea about any batchmate who did a famous startup feedback regarding enterpreneurship in college !!.

Campus of Lpu is too large to visit, even from last year I have been staying there but still I couldn't cover all over the areas of lpu campus. 600 acre areas they have. In one word, our campus is colourful and cultural. Students from different states of India as well as from other countries also have joined lpu for studying. Too much social gathering is there, you will automatically be a social butterfly when join the lpu campus life. Also there are a large Agriculture field, vaterinary department, lots of schools like school of Law, Mittal school of business, school of bpt, school of Agriculture, school of physical sciences etc., 2 large size auditoriums: Baldev Raj Mittal & Shantidevi Mittal Auditorium.,a Division of Student Welfare ( DSW),Unipolis, Shopping Mall, Food court, Fruit court, Lovely Sweets, a big Central Library, Unihospital etc. There are a lots of events, everey year lpu management organises are. Spectra, Quiz competition, Youthvibe, Coke studio, Freshmen talent search, Freshmen induction program, one India, one World, Mr. & Mrs. Punjab, and also oftenly many celebrities visit Lpu and organise functions like dancing, singing, ramp walk, beatboxing, group dance etc. In dsw, you can also learn singing, dancing, playing instruments, anchoring, drama etc after registering your name there. I have also participated in some of the above mentioned programs and got certificates. Lpu Nss also recognizes some human welfare events like. Blood donation camp, tree panting, avoiding plasics and spreading awarness about pollution from waste materials etc. So, in lpu you can observe so much cultural events and co- curricular activities that you have never seen before __. Also no political union or student union is there, you will see an anti ragging sqad also in lpu __.

I was offered a scholarship of 18% in my tuition fees of studies. I gained this much scholarship only by clearing Lpu Nest.

Yes, I have opted for Girls hostel 6 ( GH ). There are garden gyms, swimming pools, canteens, mess, gyms, tuck shops available in lpu hostels. You have to have an id card which you have to punch in turnstile gates. There are also basket ball playground, some pleasent places just to hangout with your friends. Rooms are ac and non ac types, every room has it's single attached bathroom, Geyser system is there, lift is there, 8 floor buildings are there. Unlike hostels, you can go for apartments and Pg rooms ( outside of campus) also. 2,3 and 4 seater rooms are there, size is medium, coloured. North and South indian foods are available in mess. pg rate is little bit high but if you are moving out first time from your home, I will definitely recommend you for hostels cause hostels are safer than PG rooms.Overall the hostel facility and infrastructure are good enough.
