Remarks

The college Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra has a pretty significant brand image. Also the city Ranchi is pretty near by my hometown and hence easier access is available. The college is also situated in a very convenient location where you have proper access to coaching centres, malls and transportation.

Course Curriculum Overview

Our batch was the first batch to have implemented CBCS curriculum which focuses on overall skill development and thorough test of knowledge. The college however lacks basics facilities both education as well as infrastructure wise.

The college takes no responsibility of as minute tasks such as internships so forget about Job placements. In an entire batch, hardly 2 or 3 students are placed and the package offered is also nowhere near decent.

College Events

College has absolutely no extra curricular activities. Inorder to have any sort of college life and social life, it is mandatory to have joined a society. Even basic events such as fresher's party and farewell parties are organised by societies which demand heavy entry charges.

I had NIT Raipur Chemical Engg, rejected it because I didn't like the campus amenities of the same, zero sports facilities, they play Football on a Red Soil literally. I got this in CSAB and hence it was a better ranked college than NITRR, i've heard of people opting a lower preferred branch in BITM over a branch in NITRR such the brand value of the college. I scored pretty avg in JEE 58k rank so wasn't eligible for all the clgs anyhow. Admission process is pretty simple JOSSA and CSAB. Admission experience is obviously good because why would a clg not welcome a laxmi lol jk....Read More

Actually This college was in my list but as a last option as i was getting RVCE and BMS few reputed colleges of bangalore but my parents insisted for this college as this college carries a good brand name of BIT,Mesra. Yes, Due to my not so good performance in JEE Mains I did not get the college i was hoping for. A student should first appear in JEE Mains and score a good percentile to get in to this college.
