Remarks

There are 23 colleges in Chennai offering biotechnology course among them I found this is better because the academic fee is least and some of my seniors have studied in the same institute. One of my uncle suggested this college but the strength of biotechnology students in this college is very less.Only few branches like cse, automobile, areospace and aeronautical engineering are filled up with students but need not worry even though the strength is low in other branches the teachers, seminars, conferences everything will be going on and I can say low strength is an advantage because u will be able to interact properly with the proffessors and they will know everyone of us. Students intrested in research can also start it with the help of proffessors in the first year itself, but the college hostel is too costly. Its waste of money to join those hostels, there will be many rules and also timings differences between boys and girls.Girls are allowed to roam in the campus till 6,where as boys can be till 9 and to go for outing you need to go through a long procedure it's hell. It's better if you choose a pg outside for lower cost u can have better facilities. And also in college hostel there will be many LIZARDS,FROGS,SNAKES, MOSQUITOES,RATS.what not.withou a mosquito net you cannot live in the girls hostel.Paying 110000 for non AC and 190000 for ac rooms is not worth at all.

Course Curriculum Overview

Our syllabus was upto the mark,I checked our text books with some of my friend's studying in nits and that reached its standards. When it comes to the faculty,as usual as in many schools, colleges some of them are excellent in teaching and content some are worst. The feedback given by students is taken seriously and one of our sir was removed due to his bad teaching. All the faculties have PhD s.Every semester students are taken to IV(industrial visits)s and are asked to do internship every semester holidays. That also includes credits.

Internships Opportunities

I did an internship in the first semester holidays at abedin biotechnology training company, Hyderabad. They took around 4500.The internship was about basics of biotechnology and they trained me to do the experiments and taught theory too.It was a 30 day internship.I did an internship online due to corona pandemic at noobtron company which is based on research papers. It was helpful. They took 1500 and it was also a 30 day internship.

Placement Experience

3.5

Biocon was the company visited last year and out of 10 2 were placed, the salary package was around 3-4 lakhs.I am still studying second year.

College Events

4.5

There will be many events going on in the campus. One big fest tarona will be conducted every year and the dj night is awsome.local celebreties are invited and that will be fun.National conferences are held and many events. You can enjoy a lot

Campus Life

I don't know about sports because I don't play any games but I see students playing football and basketball every morning and evening. For the girls in sports there is seperate hostel block.Even in mess they get extra food though it is limited for the remaining it is sufficient. And the wardens are sucking, very irritating they are attention seekers.I just hate the hostel, but food is appriciable, they follow very strict timetable and give limited food even if you are late 5mins you won't get your food. For wifi you need to fill a form and you'll be charged for that, there is no free wifi in the campus. The labs are awsome all the equipment will be available and in proper condition. The library is the biggest block in the college there are 5 floors 3 of them are with books and 2 are for research. There is also digital library which is quite peaceful and useful.

Hostel Facilities

The house keeping comes only weekly twice.Lot of mosquitoes will be there. The hostel fee for girls of first year is 120000 for non AC 5sharing and 190000 for ac 5sharing the fee includes everything food, accommodation, laundry, cleaning.Electrical appliances are not allowed like ironbox, kettle, hair dryer, straightner but many of the students use them secretly.the fee for boys is different for different blocks. There are 2 hostles one is similar to the girls one and other is with better rooms but very costly.it is waste to stay in hostel. You can stay in near by pgs.The pgs would cost around 6000-7000 a month for ac which is far better than the college hostel.

Placement Experience:

For campus placements students of the 4th year or 7th semester are the eligible ones. Multiple companies like zoho, apple,TCS,CTS, accenture etc have come and multiple small companies too. But the intake for the big and reknown MNCs were low from abt 2-3 candidates only.the placement here is 100% but the companies may vary.My future goal is to go for a government official stream after I finish my masters abroad.

Placement Experience:

From 3rd year itself a student become eligible for campus placements and some of seniors got ino flipkart like companies. So the college is good at placement. In any colleges, due to college the student can't only be placed, their skills, talents, communication is more important to get placed so based their knowledge the students get placed. only thing college need to do is getting good companies with package and our college also provide it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

me being a law student expected a lot of practical and theoretical examples to be presented in front of the students when I first joined in, but the reality was far less than what I expected. The professor is mostly came in read. Whatever the book said and left, gave us few assignments and group projects to be completed without any particular information from their side. We had to sit and do research on our own without any input, and then we'll go summit down the assignments or projects or whatever task was appointed to us, and then we'll have a viva through our work and that's pretty much it . The new professors who joined in by our third year, were very practical, made us understand a lot of things which the previous professor didn't. They answered a questions. They were more relevant to us because they could understand that some topics were forced on us and supposed to be taught, maybe twice or thrice just to make us more comfortable or just to make us more smarter in that area by understanding it in depth . law is one of the most interesting and difficult courses out there, but then if you have the right professor is leading you to it, you would learn easily and more efficiently. in my area of study, practical work was not very much included other than participating in mood court. It was all theory based which is not very important in a way because when you finish your course and get into the real world when you go to your corporate world or litigation side, you need practical experience and you need to understand how to do work and not just learn the sections or the theory part so something that they could have improved was rather than giving us assignments or group projects they could have made us understand and giving us real life situations or give given us more practical practice so that it would be easy for us to understand what litigation is and how we are supposed to do it.

I took MCA to get placed into IT companies . The subjects in the MCA is very interesting but the students who studied UG course and then the pg course also in the same college then it is totally waste because they are studying the same subject again. Very bad thing is that in this college they are providing the same subjects and same syllabus for UG and PG students there is nothing different. But i have studies ug in other clg so for me it is different so i managed and it is interesting
