Vibhor Goyal's Review On The West Bengal National University Of Juridical Sciences - [NUJS], Kolkata

National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata ranks 3rd among all the NLUs in India. It has a fantastic campus. Faculties are well-learned. Students are from diverse backgrounds. The college has tie-up with Sports Authority of India, so for sports enthusiasts like me it is great.

The course structure of NUJS is devised in such a manner that students find themselves comfortable in studying tough subjects of law. Scores are given in CGPA format. A student has to study and score good consistently from his/her first year itself cause all the semesters' CGPAs are added up for an net score.

Big law firms both within and outside the country recruit students from NUJS. Some big names are SAM, CAM, L&L and AZB. Some students take up judicial services and civil services as career choices. Most of fresh graduates also go abroad for doing LLM programs in prestigious institutions like Oxford, Yale, Columbia and Cambridge.

Our college hosts Outlawed and Invicta every year. Both these flagship events are held in the first week of February for 3 days. Students from different colleges, including but not limited to law colleges, come and take part in numerous competitions. Outlawed is conducted in the college ground and Invicta, the sports event, is held in Sports Authority of India's campus.

Campus is just beside EM Bypass, which is the main road for going to important locations like Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Airport. One can get buses, cabs, yellow taxis right from the main gate of campus. Hostels are within the campus compound so it is takes less than a minute for a student to reach his/her classroom.

Hostels, both boys' and girls', are inside the campus compound. Rooms are allocated on a merit basis which means that a student holding good rank gets room of his/her choice. By choice of room it means that one gets to decide on which floor and corner of the hostel facility does he/she wants to live for two whole semesters. All the rooms are fully equipped with basic student amenities like WiFi connection, almirahs, single-sized beds and study tables.
