Remarks

This is one of the oldest colleges and is well-reputed across the country for its academics levels and also because of the alumni of the college. The college has the best academics undoubtedly. It was worth joining this college though being very far from the hometown.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The only thing I would say is that the college provides the best teachers you could ever find. They are knowledgeable, friendly and ready to solve our problems anytime. They never say "no" to work. Every single teacher in the Physics department is highly talented, knowledgeable, and have no ego. They are ready to help us whenever needed. They make studies superb fun and easy. They won't miss the tutorials. All the practical subject of the teachers are very helpful. The staff are very humble, friendly and helpful. The students can skip a class or two, but the teachers are really punctual and never missed any class unless there is something big issue. All in all, I am learning a lot from my college, my classmates, my teachers.

Placement Experience

Placements in our college are great. The average salary package offered previous year was 6.5 LPA. The highest salary package offered was 30 LPA, and it was offered by a consulting firm. All the reputed consulting companies and many others visited the campus. Almost all interested students were placed after their graduation.

College Events

5

Don't get any wrong idea about Stephens as it is all about studies. Like every other college, fests are also organised, and the treasure hunt is my favourite. Festivals are celebrated on-campus, among which I like Onam celebration the most. I love Rangoli, the students make it with flowers, and it's just mesmerising. The best part is that no matter which state or religion you belong to, every student respects and enjoys the celebration of different cultural fests. Stephens has a humungous football ground in which students organise events sometimes. The basketball match is superb fun for watching and cheering. I guess, 500 students join Stephens college every year. It's like a dream college for science students. You have to fill a separate form that contains your academic status as well as your hobbies. Basically, the form is to analyse your overall abilities because every Stephenian represents the college. Then, the cut-off list is released, and the eligible candidates are called for interviews, almost 6-7 staff members analyse you. They analyse your academic schedule, personality, and the way you respond to their answers. If you are an eligible candidate and clear the interview, then you should feel lucky that you got the best staff.

Campus Life

Stephens has a very nice vibe compared to other colleges of DU. Every corner of the college is perfect for studying. You can sit anywhere you want except for the garden in front of the principal's office. You can start your work there or can sit and chill out with your friends. A gym is also available for students. My favourite place is the library, that's the place where I spend most of my free slots. The college's appearance is antique. You can get every facility, be it Wi-Fi, AC classrooms and proper medical facilities. There is a juniors common room as well and LCR too. This is the only college that just has a cafe.

I choosed this course not on the basis of curriculum but on the basis of outcomes. Curriculum is old and not real world based, professors also have limited knowledge. Course Curriculum should be made more advanced and professors should be trained well.

As a art student mostly wants to graduate from the course like Political, History as well as Geography and my intrest is constituted with subject like geography and the faculty of Shaheed Bhagat Singh College is goods That's why I inclunced my decision in this course. The difficulty level of examination was quite good but question answer was quite easy and lengthy. The timming of examination for Hons students from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and the extra subject like VAC, DSE, GE, SEC examination time is almost 2hr. These extra subject helps to development in skill as well as personal growth.

Several companies visited our college and give a lot of offers to work in their company. most likely NIIT, Tritech International, BNL software etc. There were almost 70% of the students who got placements in my batch. My plan is to work in Microsoft or with Google as a software developer in their company.
