Remarks

College is situated at the bank of Dal lake, the world famous lake. It is situated in hazratbal srinagar kashmir and in winter the college is covered with snow. It is a institute of national importantance like IITS which are prestigious colleges of India, we will have a degree of such college and placement are also good.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum is relevant and updated. In 1 year we have same syllabus for all branches and after 1 st year syllabus is respective to the their branches, and have two exams in semester, midterm and end term. Faculty members teaching quality is average. They are helpful, and not everyone is qualified and knowledgeable. About 70% of the faculty members are very good and some of them have their PhD from IITS and IISC.

Class Size: 81Course Fees: INR 65600 per year

Placement Experience

Nit has it's own training and placement cell in which internship and placements are given to students and also many big names come for placements like alostom, optum, samsung, wipro, Infosys, HPCL, BPCL, powergrid etc.

College Events

Campus life is great but outside campus it is depend on the strikes etc so the situation outside campus is often not stable. There are many tech fests like techvaganza. There are dj nights, freshers party, farewell etc Techvaganza is the biggest technical fest of NIT SRINAGAR with participation of many students across the valley and from college and some innovation fests. it lasts for about 1 week Many cultural fests are also organised by the administration.

Marshal the placement resources so well that our college has close to 90% placement records. Siemens, ABB and such companies where ECE engineers can contribute are the companies that hires us and the average for our ECE branch is 6 lakhs or so.

Overall a good University with below average placements.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placemnt after third year. total 8 companies from local Food and beverage companies and agriculture related companie came for campus placements. Most of the student didnt take offers from the companies because none of the companies were offering more than 15k to 18k per month I also didnt take the placement offer for the same reason and now i am thinking for further studies from somewhere that have good placements Out of 23 students who were eligible for placements only 3 accepted the offer.

Is Nit Srinagar worth it?

Placement Experience:

Yes my college offers placements for each branch students becomes eligible after sixth semester if they doent have any active supply in there course and very company have their own criteria to make eligble to the student for placements like cgpa etc. companies visited in civil was L&T, Tata steel, Jsw, Afcon etc and the average package was 6 lakh every company brought diffrent no. of offers average was 5 in civil highest package got to mine class crc of 1300000 that was a psu and the percentage of students got placed was 10% only. mine plans after was to prepare for goverments exams.

Is Nit Srinagar worth it?

I got this college on the basis of councellign held after jee main result before this i got Natinal institue of technology Megalya i left that beacuse of non permanent hostel facility and bad reviews from the seniors and the distance from mine hoemtown sikar(Rajasthan) even many good engineerig colleges was there in mine list but because of mine less marks in jee main and advance i am unable to get them (example : nit silchar, nit Wrangle, nit Trichy etc) but over all mine college was good according to Enviroment conditions and other parameters and the admission process was very smooth just you have to verify your documents ....Read More

As we all know that the B.Tech course is of four years and divided into eight semesters. It is offereed across 8 different specialisations including /cse, /ee, ECE, MEC, META, CIVIL, IT /cHE . The course admission is done on the basis of candidate's performance in JEE Main followed by JOSSA counselling/CSAB counselling. The allotment is donw on the basis of merit score in Je/e Main. The Eligibility Criteria is that the candiddate must qualify JEE Main and score above 75% marks in 12th. A score of 96 - 97 p;ercentile is enough for an OB/C or General student and 93% -90 perccentile for SC / ST students.
