Anonymous's Review On Indian Institute Of Information Technology - [IIIT], Una

IIIT Una was a decent choice according to my percentile. I locked this choice in CSAB counselling. Though I had other choices too but I wanted to pursue CS / IT and I was not getting the same in other colleges.

Course Curriculum:IIIT's have the most updated curriculum as compared to other national level colleges. We don't have subjects like E.D which are still taught in IIT's and are of no use, especially in IT sector as IIIT's are mainly focused on that. IIIT Una is first IIIT to introduce practicum in their curriculum which is based on reverse engineering. We have to assemble and reassemble the electronic devices to study about their components and their functioning. Faculty:Faculty members are well qualified (mostly Phd's), however teaching standard is not that good but it is problem with most of the colleges. Except one or two, all are cooperative and students do not face any difficulties interacting with them.

Placements are excellent this year. Our seniors got placed in top companies like Microsoft, Amazon and Adobe. Regarding the packages, I have no much idea but reputed companies do visit and average package must be good.

Clubs organise coding events regularly like Coderation, Game of Codes in association with reputed platforms like Coding Ninjas. As campus size is not that big, all the fests are held at NIT Hamirpur as three batches are residing there.

Since first year lives separately, campus is not that big. Academic block is well managed. Library is spacious and has almost every book of our requirement. Wifi speed is decent. Labs are well equipped.

Hostel rooms are 3/4 seater with attached bathrooms. Rooms are spacious and cleaned regularly. Almirah, table and bed is provided to each student. Rooms are well ventilated. Hostel wifi gives decent speed.
