Remarks

My Institute is an Institution of National Importance. Though being one of the newer NITs, academically its better than many of the older NITs. Our college has been ranked 61st in the 2020 NIRF rankings and is ranked 14th among all NITs. Moreover the placements are very good. Most of faculty members are also very good and are highly qualified. Being close to my house is an additional perk for me.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is pretty up to date, though this mainly varies from branch to branch. The quality of education is better than most of the other engineering colleges in India.90% of the faculty is exceptionally good, having high qualifications from reputed institutions and tonnes of teaching experience.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placements here up to the mark and are only improving every year. This year the highest International package was around 82 LPA and the highest domestic package was around 42 LPA. Some of the companies that visit NITM are Microsoft, Amazon, HP, L&T, Powergrid, Mater Card, Nissan, etc. The institute also boasts an impressive 100% placement rate.

College Events

4

Apart from academics, NITM is well involved in sports, having quite a number of sportsmen who have made our college proud in several inter institute competitions. NITM is also the proud host of two of the largest annual college fests in the North East- Cognitia(Tech Fest) and Shishir(Cultural Fest) in which students from various Colleges/Schools participate. We also have several clubs such as the Robotics Club, Coding Club, Music Club, etc.

Campus Life

The infrastructure is where the institution is lacking slightly. NITM is presently operating from its temporary campus in Shillong, and the main campus is still under construction in Sohra, and is expected to be complete by 2021. Our laboratories are well equipped having all the required modern pieces of equipment. In fact, we have some of the best-equipped labs in all of India.

Placement Experience:

campus placements are okay, it is improving over time... averagely people get placed at 7-8 lpa and some people get placed at 12lpa. Many students go for off campus placements and there they perform very well. students have secured 22- 28lpa off campus.

Course Curriculum Overview:

NEHU syllabus is quite good I should say, especially with the introduction of the NEP(New Education Policy) Well regarding the curriculum, I would say the teachers play and important part regarding that situation. However, exams or tests are becoming quite a headache for the students compared to the duration of our courses
