UJJAL's Review On DHSK Commerce College, Dibrugarh

DHSK main aim is to guide and motivating the students with quality education and inculcating the spirit of healthy competition & co-operation between the students.Moreover we are provided with facilities such as gym, information and career guidance cell, students union body, a well equipped computer lab with xerox facility for the college staff and students at very nominal rates at the library.

The course duration is 12 months which lays the foundation of theoretical & practical knowledge about the banking and finance industry to the students. The subjects of study in this two semesters includes taxation, Indian financial system, Tally ERP, Audit & Accounts practice, Fundamental of accounting, commercial and industrial law, loans & advances etc.

DHSK has recorded a 85% placement record in the past years. Top companies such as IBM, ICICI bank, HDFC bank, Axis Bank, Barclays, Tech Mahindra, TCS etc visits our campus every year. The highest salary offered at my time was 1.5 lpm and the minimum was 30,000 per month. Internships in consultancy fields, private banks, IT sectors etc were offered to students with a minimum stipend of 8,000 per month.

The fees for 12 months is 7,550 for students who are not for Assam. Students who are from same state needs to pay a small amount of 5,550. They outside students have to pay the full admission fees. The fee structure is very feasible for me.

Our college organises a blood donation camp within the college campus every year on the occasion of International Women's Day. The NSS wing organises a five day camp with the village survey programmers in which activities such as singing, dancing, quiz competition, diseases awareness program, personal hygiene etc are discussed. Start up India program is also organised by the college council to give knowledge about the entrepreneurship field among their students. Sports activities such as football, chess, basketball, badminton, table tennis, relay race are held in even semesters to boost the physical & mental capacity of the students.

The student who want to seek admission must have passed class 12th with 50% marks from a recognized board. This criteria is for students who want to apply for the morning shift. Moreover you need to specify your order of course preference also. Admission process will be done on the basis of merit list which is prepared on the basis of qualifying marks obtained in the previous examination.

The teachers of our department are really knowledgeable about their course of action. They teach us about how to handle the financial records, tax structures, preparing tax return files and maintaining the accounting records of a firm. Case studies and assignments are given regularly to check our growth and whether we are understanding the subject better or not.
