Course Curriculum Overview

I am in 1st year and pursuing my B.A Economics honours. Our college provides a 3-year full time course in this field. Our course curriculum aims to integrate the elements of micro and macro economics with money and banking systems, international economics, quantitative analytical methods and public policy issues.

Placement Experience

There's a placement cell in our college which organizes personality development sessions in order to train the students to become the perfect industry required employee. TCS and Wipro are the 2 companies which recruites students from our college every year. However there's a scope for improvement in the placement opportunities.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is pretty liberal in our college when compared with the other colleges in Kolkata. My course fee is Rs. 6,210 per year. The B.Sc and B.Com hons. candidates are charged a bit higher than this.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college also provides loan facilities to the students which is availed by many of us. There is also a relaxation in fees for the SC, ST and OBC candidates. Besides, it also provides scholarship facilities.

Campus Life

Our faculty members highly motivates us to take part in the different extracurricular activities conducted by our college. The students are given ample opportunities in inter collge tournaments. We also have a NSS unit in our college which is highly active. In addition, many workshops and seminars are also organized by our college departments.

Admission

Our college conducts online application process for all streams. The minimum eligibility criteria for a student to get admission is to secure a passing marks in the qualifying examination with 50% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in the subject of specialization. I had quite high grades in my +2 exam and that's how I got selected.

Faculty

Our college has hired the best faculty members across West Bengal. They are extremely knowledgeable and most of them are PhD scholars. They groom us well and clears our queries on the spot. The teaching method is well updated and even the guest lecturers are quite accommodating.

Good Faculty but Average Campus Life

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was relevant for beginners and covered important computer subjects like programming basics, DBMS, networking, and computer fundamentals. It helped in understanding the foundation of IT and software. However, the curriculum needs more practical sessions, coding practice, live projects and industry level skills. Exams were conducted semester wise with internal assessment, and the difficulty level was moderate. Overall the curriculum is good for basics, but it should be updated with more modern topics and practical learning.

Budget Best College For Students in Sonarpur

Placement Experience:

Mostly what i know, from 7th or 8th semester the students are eligible for the campus placements. Wipro, TCS, etc are the companies who come to recruit students from this college. The highest package is like 15 LPA, the average package is around 6-8 LPA. 50-60% of students get placement. After the degree, if i get the job i would like to purse MCA, while doing my job.

All our professors were very helpful and kind to everyone. They were always one step forward in helping us in every way possible. They were friendly and very knowledgeable. Our course curriculum had data analysis and econometrics, which every company looks for. The topics taught were relevant. Semester exams were not very easy, but our professors prepared us in every way. The pass percentage was approximately 85%. Students were among the top-ranked in the city.
