Course Curriculum Overview

I chose computer science in my bachelors because of my interest. We had numerous lab sessions where we were taught about the basics of programming in the first year and gradually the programs got tough.

Placement Experience

Placements are better compared to other colleges in Kolkata. In our college they conduct placement training for the final year students every week.Top reputed organisations like TATA consultancy, Freshdesk come for hiring.

Fee Structure And Facilities

I paid Rs.1425/- per year so the aggregate will be 5000/- including my hostel, mess food, stationary, books, project works, etc. I think it Is feasible compared to other colleges. It is value for money.

Campus Life

In my college, they give equal opportunities/preferences for both genders. There are student representation for all activities a girl and a boy is mandatory. In sports also the girl team and boys team play a separate match.

Admission

I completed my BSc degree from Bagnan College. It is a 3-year course and I chose the morning shift. This college accepts online application, you can choose a minimum of 3 courses in one form. I got admission with my higher secondary scores with an aggregate of 75%, but the minimum eligibility is 50%.

All faculty members are well qualified and proficient. Teaching quality is very good. Teachers are always ready and available to help. our faculty gives us revision sessions after every topic which helped us understand better.

Campus life: Hype vs Truth

I heard it from seniors that before lockdown it was pretty decent but after lockdown the company visits are not that much comapred to before lockdown.Cognizent, Accenture, Mindtree, PQ360 which is a startup company of our senior alumni etc. visits.

Placement Experience:

The placement record in my college is preety good. 80-90% students are already placed this year. Average package is around 9.5lpa. Companies like ICICI, KPMG, PWC, Vedanta, Mother Dairy and so many are coming for recuiting students.

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

The life in HITK

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placement in cse, it ,ece and sometimes elec branches. The others dpt also offers a quite unique variety of placements from different companies. Nearly 60 percent of the students have been placed in this year and others are still on board for a positive response.

Placement Experience:

from 7th semester (for btech students), 9th semester (for dual degree students) students are eligible for campus placements. there are numerous companies which visit the campus...and generally nearly all students get placed during the placement season, but recently there has been recession and companies are not taking less number of the students than they usually do.
