Course Curriculum Overview

The course syllabus is one that is followed by all universities affiliated to the University of Calcutta. There is plenty of focus on academics and the professors also make it a point to focus on research and research methodology in Arts.

Placement Experience

There is scope for improvement here. The college has a placement cell that organizes some training programs and soft skills development courses both short term and long term, and at times Job fairs are also held.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure for the Bagnan College is good and generally very affordable for an average person. The fee for one year of the Bachelor of Arts course is 2,895 Rupees and for three years it is a total of 8,685 Rupees.

Campus Life

The Gender Ratio in the college is quite good. There are equal number of girls and boys in the college. Many of the students in the college are very nice people and the crowd is good. There are all kinds of people and the culture is very diverse.

The admission process is primarily online. You have to go to the college website and register on their admission portal. Fill all the details carefully and pay the registration fee if any, and press submit.

I heard it from seniors that before lockdown it was pretty decent but after lockdown the company visits are not that much comapred to before lockdown.Cognizent, Accenture, Mindtree, PQ360 which is a startup company of our senior alumni etc. visits.

Placement Experience:

The placement record in my college is preety good. 80-90% students are already placed this year. Average package is around 9.5lpa. Companies like ICICI, KPMG, PWC, Vedanta, Mother Dairy and so many are coming for recuiting students.

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement is a race here. Handfull of good companies with good roles will come but they take good chunk of students. So be prepare for that and don't worry about getting good companies, here many companies offers better packages than those good companies.

The life in HITK

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placement in cse, it ,ece and sometimes elec branches. The others dpt also offers a quite unique variety of placements from different companies. Nearly 60 percent of the students have been placed in this year and others are still on board for a positive response.

Placement Experience:

from 7th semester (for btech students), 9th semester (for dual degree students) students are eligible for campus placements. there are numerous companies which visit the campus...and generally nearly all students get placed during the placement season, but recently there has been recession and companies are not taking less number of the students than they usually do.
