Course Curriculum Overview

The course duration is 3 years which is divided into 6 semesters which are 6 months long. We are given information about the dental treatment techniques, surgical procedures and how to replace and repair the defective teeth. The subjects of study include conservative dentistry ( module 1 & 2), pulp capping, applied anatomy of neck and head, endodontics, instrumentation & obturation of route canal, route canal access preparation and exercises done on matrix and veg placement, varnish and base application, amalgam restoration and tooth preparation. This course prepares the students to undertake effective restoration and prepares them with a sharp and critical mind to diagnose the ailments related to the teeth.

Placement Experience

3.5

The top recruiting fields in Conservative dentistry are dental clinics, private hospitals, military health services, college/universities, government sector, hospital administration etc. The job roles offered are those of medical writer, dentist, dental hygienist, orthopedist, senior lecturer, sales manager in dental implanting, medical coordinator. The highest salary offered ranges from 10-12 LPA and the minimum salary is around 4 LPA. Summer internships are also offered to students in hospitals and public healthcare centers with the average stipend of 10,000 per month.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The tuition fees for first year is 4.29 Lakh and the grand total for 3 years is 12.87 Lakh. The fees structure is very expensive and robust for me but having secured a good rank and marks in the NEET-PG examinations, I was offered some sort of fee concession.

Campus Life

Our college celebrates all the festivals so that the students can come together and take part in these celebrations. Other activities include pottery, drama, face painting, DJ night, freshers day, rangoli making competitions, poster making competitions, debate competition etc are held in our college in the annual fest. Annual sports day is also conducted related to many outdoor and indoor games in which the students are interested to take part in.

Hostel Facilities

The Hostels are big and spacious. Separate hostels are provided to both boys and girls. Parking lot is also provided to the students. Other facilities include attached bathroom, an almirah for personal belongings, internet facilities, water supply, electricity, library and a stationary shop containing all the necessary items. There is also a cafeteria near the main campus which offers food to the students and staff at subsidized rates. The mess food is also quite good and different dishes are prepared according to the cultural festivals.

Admission

For admission in this course you need to have at least 50% marks in the BDS. 40% for the reserved category. Other than that the students need to clear NEET-PG examinations and a merit list will be prepared on those scores. Luckily my name was in the second merit list as I have secured a good rank in the examinations and was called for a counselling session and thereafter granted admission in the college.

Faculty

The teachers of the college have more than 15+ years of experience in their course. They give us an advance knowledge about treatment mode such as root canal treatment, dental fillings, surgical endodontics and management/bleaching of the traumatized teeth. Guest faculty also visit our college from elite institutions to tell about the dental treatment techniques and how we need to have good observations skills and patience to detect the disorders and treat the patients willfully.

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th sem. The highest on campus package this year was around 64 LPA, while as far as I know, the top 20% of the students usually get offers in the 16-24LPA range. The overall placement rate is good, but results depend a lot on your skills and practice

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose electronics and communications wholeheartedly. Since my childhood, I was very interested in electronics and very humble in learning new topics in digital electronics. I was never a coding guy, so I took electronics and communications as my course. It was an easy choice for me. So class's average strength is around 65 to 70. And the faculty: student ratio is quite good. The teachers are well qualified and most of them are doctorate holders. The timetable is arranged in a manner such that there is smooth conduction of classes for all-year students. The exams are semester wise and there will be internals every month. Questions are better, you have to know little bit contents taught in classes and also from textbooks. It is easy to pass.
