Course Curriculum Overview

There are a total of 10 semesters, 2 each year. The schedule can get very hectic if we're not regular with the coursework. The course is highly research based and there would be a lot of industrial and site visits. The contents of the course are fashioned in a way to get maximum knowledge about the discipline. I have pulled so many all-nighters. Exams are conducted at the end of each semester. There would be viva as well as jury.

Placement Experience

1

College doesn't conduct any pool drives or provide any internships. But the field is highly competitive and rewarding. Once you pass out, you get a lot of job opportunities. Faculty members do provide necessary guidance in that matter.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Architecture being a five year course can get quite expensive. Along with the fee, there would be a lot of extra expenditure in stationary and other things. Since I am in the management quota, the fee is pretty high and can amount up to Rs. 6,00,000. Students who got in through other ways experience a much lower fee.

Fees and Financial Aid

Government do provide a few scholarships. We can apply for it with assistance from the faculty members. Colleges provide scholarships to the top students. I don't know much about any other scholarships available.

Campus Life

The most exciting event in the college is the Exhibition in March and April. Many famous architects visit to take sessions and seminars. Study workshops are also conducted now and then which helps the students a lot. Other cultural programs and competitions are also held. We celebrate events like Navaratri.

Hostel Facilities

I have opted for hostel accommodation. There's a hostel for both girls and boys. Three students have to share one room. There's a mess for students where the food is pretty good. It is close to the campus so it's convenient for the students. Hostel fee is about Rs. 1,00,000 per year.

Admission

I have always been passionate about architecture and getting into RV College of Architecture was a dream come true. I got in through Management Quota. For that, I had to qualify NATA with a mininum score of 80 out of 200. You can also get in if you qualify JEE Paper 2. After that, there would be counseling where you would be allotted a college. Along with that you need to have 70% marks in Mathematics and Science each in the 10th grade and 65% in Mathematics and English each in the 12th grade. There are 2 other ways to get into the college. One is through COMED-K and the other is through K-CET merit list.

Faculty

4.5

All the faculty members are highly qualified. Their lectures are very interesting and lively. They have ample expertise in the discipline they teach. We can approach them with any doubts at all. They are really amiable, kind and strict as well at the right moments. We get to work with different professors each year.

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th sem. The highest on campus package this year was around 64 LPA, while as far as I know, the top 20% of the students usually get offers in the 16-24LPA range. The overall placement rate is good, but results depend a lot on your skills and practice

I would rate the course curriculum in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness of about 09/10. Basis the course or the programme chosen, the curriculum is being set to solve real life case studies. It doesnt only focus only on the conceptual matters, clearing for the exams but also includes a well equipped case study based solutions that helps in finding the relevant job basis your course.
