Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is focused in providing students with the exposure of the complexities and how to handle them in different segments of fashion and apparel industries. The subjects which are taught during the 4 year course is advanced draping, computer aided design, introduction to fashion technology and fashion sketching, Fashion accessory, element of color and design, history of arts and fashion, design minor studio etc. The duration of the course is 4 years which is further divided into 8 semesters. It provides the student an integrated approach to designing rather than just producing specialists and provide flexibility so that the students can work across a wide range of design areas and can explore their creative sites.
Placement Experience
The job roles offered to the students are fashion assistant, costume designer, personal stylist, fashion show organizers, graphic designer etc. The Companies which hire the students for such roles are Rebook, Van Huesan, People, Pantaloons, Wills Lifestyle, Vera moda etc. The average starting package starts from 6 LPA and can go up to 10 LPA. Summer internships are also offered to students in fashion and apparel industry with the minimum stipend of 15000 per month.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees for 4 years is around 11 LPA. The hostel charges are around 30,000 which needs to be paid every year. A one time registration fees and security deposit amount is to be paid at the start of the college. Thus the fees is a little bit expensive for me.
Fees and Financial Aid
50% tuition fees waver is awarded to students who have secured 90% marks in the previous examinations and who have secured good score in the online entrance tests. Bank lone is also offered to the students for the educational purposes. Scholarships is also awarded to students whose family income does not exceed 3 LPA.
Campus Life
SPECTRUM is organised in the even semesters so that the different departments of the college can showcase their work. Different clubs such as fashion clubs, textile club, apparel club, management club organises cultural festivals so that the students do not forget about the essence of Indian culture. Workshops and programs on fashion products and accessories, garment industry, changing trends, footwear industry etc are organised regularly in our department.
Admission
To get admission in this college you need to clear CAT or GAT entrance exam which is organised by the NIFT department. After you have cleared the exam, you will be called for a personal interview round and a merit list will be prepared based on your marks in the entrance tests. 5% seats are reserved for the SC/ST/OBC category.
Faculty
The teachers of the college are PHD holders in their subjects and they have more than 10 years of teaching experience in their course. They tell us about the foundation of the fashion and textile industry so that we become professional managers & designers in the fields of fashion. The guest faculty also tells us about their experience and how we should learn to integrate design concepts within the cultural, social, environmental and ethical contexts.
