Feel proud of my alma mater

It is definitely a premier institution as it gets creamy layer from the national admission tests. Peer group is strong and encourages learning

I gave AIEEE in 2005. I opted for this college as I am from North India and NIT Allahabad is the top most NIT in the north India

The course curriculum is ok. It was same for many years. I believe students learn more using self learning and peer learningElectives I took were: Network Security, Automation Theory, Intellectual Property RightsI liked IPR elective the most. The curriculum was very interesting and involved some case studies as wellNetwork Security was good as well especially for those keenly interested in Computer Science

I did not do any internship but few students did get placed and also got PPO like in Microsoft google yahoo etc. Most did a project in the college or went for courses like Nettech. Some also went abroad for university project but very few companies which paid internship paid around 20,000 per month I guess. Somewhere close to that

My batch was placed in recession year (2008) Considering that, I think the placements were still good. Some folks made it to Goldman Sachs, Amazon Yahoo and also got job letters which was a big thing considering economic scenario that timeAlmost all were placed but some of them got regret due to recessionAmazon offered around 14 lacsCisco,Yahoo, Netapp Adobe,Nagarro, Nomura, - 8-9 lacs rangeZS around 7 lacsI think Microsoft also came but i dont remember package

Avishkar - This is the tech festival. It is quite big but most of the teams are from college with some teams from colleges in the vicinityGnosiomania: This is more of Business Festival with quizzing, debates, B plan competitions etc. It does see some participation from colleges like Symbiosis Pune, Delhi based colleges but again most are college teamsCulrav: This is a famous cultural fest. We did have some outside teams and also famous poets like Kumar Vishwas performing at the event

My time it was very reasonable 15000 per semester fee including everything (college plus hostel+ meals)and out of 5000 hostel fee, refunds come out depending on actual spend on mess expenses

Dont know much about this but I think batch toppers are given some scholarship from time to time and fee waiver etc

Campus life is pretty chilled out. Sports facilities are good. You get badminton court, Tennis court, Basketball court plus a ground for atletics etc. College gym is also there. There is student activity centre with indoor games and there people also make robotics and music club on their own

Normally nobody stays in PG. All in hostel only. Yes, hostel is sharing but mostly 2 per roomI think now they have constructed new hostels so things must have improved a lot. But overall hostels were ok. They do have electricity cut everyday between 10-1

Most of my interaction with seniors is through NCR Alumni group which is very active and conducts social events regularly. They also maintain a database of alumni which are members of alumni association

Exams come three times in one semester. Two are Class tests (completed in 3 days each time with 2 exams each day) and end semester which is done in six daysLabs were ok. Not super frequent.

Faculty was good I think. A lot of the professors were very experienced. Again I feel that a lot of it is self learning especially for students in IT and Comp Sci fields as the curriculum in Indian engineering colleges is somewhat outdated. Atleast that was the case when I studied but might have changed now
