Course Curriculum Overview

Every year there were two semesters that we had to give and in the entire course I had to give total six semester exams. Apart from the final examinations, our professors had also given us many assignments to perform to monitor our performances in class.

Placement Experience

5

Our college had offered us a great placement. Our college offers 100% placements for the students. Almost all the students of our batch got placed in several renowned hotels. The salary was also quite satisfactory.

College Events

4.5

In our college, we had celebrated every events with a great keenness. Our college had hosted Christmas party, New Year party, annual day program, freshers and farewell parties and many more. Most of us even participated in all these cultural events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The entire fees for this course is 2.94 Lakh, which was to be paid on semester basis. The first year fees was around 94,261, the second year 93,661 and in the third year, it was 1.06 Lakh. Considering the facilities that we got in our college, the fees is quite reasonable.

Campus Life

In our department there were more girls than boys but we had never faced any gender inequality. Some of my friends were even from different states and countries, but we all were friends with each other.

Alumni/Alumna

We had amazing seniors. Our seniors had helped us by sharing their experiences regarding examinations and placements. They had also shared their study materials with us, which had really helped us a lot in our academics.

Admission

After completing my higher secondary exam with quite decent marks, I had applied through online to read in this college. My selection was done through an entrance exam and then a counselling process, conducted by the university.

Faculty

5

We had the best professors ever in our department. All our professors were highly qualified and experienced. They had always treated us just like their children. The guest faculty members of our department were also very supportive.

We were offered placement assistance as it was an online program and i really think it is a good initiative because college are least bothered for placements for their online programs. As i had to pursue a career in marketing i started doing projects and internships in marketing and sales domain.

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As i have opted the course B.Pharmacy! I rate the course as optimal, neither too bad nor too good, its medium! Now comes on teaching method, some teachers are really well and good and few are those who does not teaches but only writing writing, thats it, they will not explain at all! And one thing they should change is that All Courses except B.Pharmacy in Chandigarh University have the criteria to pass the student even below the 40% only or the half of the highest number scored by the topper in the class, and for Bpharmacy its minimum requirement to pass the exam is 50%, Oh My God! This needs to be changed, Now every year, in Bpharmacy, the overall 80% students are getting Compartments (Back/Fail) in the subjects, but the University is not understanding it all. So this should be changed as earlier!
